America is a very large country, so it's hard to draw conclusions. In places with food deserts, it's very likely that one would eat what most people would consider garbage. On the other hand, in more affluent neighborhoods, Americans cook their own food.

I have been reading a few american "cooking recipes" and can confirm.
They consider it as cooking when they add doridos and spray cheese on precooked meal.

I generally cook five days a week and rely on premade meals for two days (usually the days I set aside to get fucked up on). My normal go-to meals are stir-fry and macaroni and cheese (from scratch, not kraft dinner shit).
