Is it true that Indians miss the British Empire?
Is it true that Indians miss the British Empire?
No. It isn't.
my parents said they miss it which is why they came here
they were born in pakistan though and treated like shit because they weren't muslim
It's unironically a generational thing.
I think overall the majority of Pajeets are glad we're gone, but older ones who can actually remember the Raj are more likely to think fondly of it.
Here's the thing: it was heavenly for superrich people and hell for the underclasses. Now my great grandparents were superrich so i should be in support but then comes the factor of dignity
Nah.
>poor people in india
>not hell now
Poverty has been decreased a lot since the Brits left.
how was the street, field, beach shitting situation under colonial rule? has it gotten worse since?
Are you 70? Because that's the only way your parents could have a strong opinion about the British government.
Yeah that'll happen once whites leave and stop enslaving
It was a lot worse than it is now. Most of the population was incredibly poor under the raj.
>enslaving
you spelt building railways, creating education systems, the civil service and uniting the country wrong, my friend.
Perhaps education meant something else back then. The literacy rate of India was 12% in 1947
Muh railways. Fucking cringe when you Brits use it to justify the empire. The railways were mainly used for resource extraction for the British and the the Indians were forced to pay heavy taxes for it.
Also marathas and many other empires united most of the Indian subcontinent before the Brits came.
It kinda is and isnt both at the same time
our politicians are corrupt
we dont like that
bongs were better in that sense
but then there is Muh Freedumz and so on
>and treated like shit because they weren't muslim
That isnt true
I know it for a fact
anyways love from Pakistan for you and your parents
this
There wasnt enslaving in India, they werent treated as equals but nor were they treated as slaves
I don't blame you for being ignorant. The government did not tell about their deeds back home. Therefore britishers living in Britain were good people. The indians who visited/moved to UK then were treated as normal people. But back in India things were a lot different
The Brits barely did anything to actually alleviate poverty or fix the educational system. They only gave token interest when it would also benefit them economically.
Indians unironically live better off today than under British rule. Despite there being more government corruption, the current government is still doing a better job of improving living conditions than the Raj did.
The Brits only bit railways so they could take out natural resources more efficiently. See the previous token interest for monetary benefit comment.
Global poverty has been decreasing since the 50s.
Im afraid Anglo influence is eternal.
I have to admit anglo propaganda is spectacular.
They always try so hard to convince themselves they were the good guys and they end up even believing it.
reminder that those british made plantations are still heavily used till today. youd be even more poor without the brits
Why India illegally occupy territory that doesn't belong to them????
Ohh you Afgani, they enslaved you too.
Goa is our clay, don’t be butthurt about it.
>Most of the population was incredibly poor under the raj.
Most of the population is still incredibly poor according to modern standards.
Back in the days there was extreme poverty everywhere in the world, even in UK. World economics went better after WWII, India being "better" now has nothing to do with the departure of the Brits.
what resources did the UK extract?
post WW2 India missed the same opportunity as China to modernise because they're dumb curry poos who smell like shit and embraced corruption and socialism while China liberalised in the 80s onwards
>Indians unironically live better off today than under British rule.
wow
people in the third world have a better living standard now than 80 years ago?
no way
Why are former colonies so fucking butthurt lads? It's not like they are worse off than if the British hadn't turned up
Of course they do, why would they keep coming over then?
they've managed to convince themselves that the reason their countries are shit is because they were at one point under the rule of a european nation
yeah im sure what indians learn in school is very unbiased and balanced lmao
The British tried to teach the Indian subhumans how to use the toilet, but they still refused. They tried to bring them modernity and civilisation, science and technology, and the only way the Poojeets rewarded them was by massacring and forcing them out of the country, leaving it in their own filthy shit-coated hands, letting it revert to the state of barbarity that existed until the Europeans came and tried to fix them on humanitarian grounds.
kek
OP here, I made curry for lunch. You're not all bad, Pajeet. It's nice to see more of you posting on Jow Forums again.
They don't even teach the intensity of British crimes in school because thr curriculum was designed by Congress party which is just a puppet party of UK crown
I am a German expat.
India is much better off without British rule, and the removal of archaic red tape inherited from the Raj has certainly done wonders for the Indian economy.
Though growth has not been impressive as say, China, it is worth noting that China has had a 15 years head start in economic liberalisation. India atm is like 2001 China.
Nevertheless, in terms of GDP per capita growth, India has had one of the highest for the past 28 years, which if continued will lead to convergence with the West.
The main problem of course is the middle income trap, which requires a smart population to get out of (think Taiwan, South Korea). The good thing is that India isn’t reliant on low skill, high profit industries such as tourism, offshore banking and raw materials export, though the main concern is whether it can provide such employment for its burgeoning population.
If you love India so much why don't you go back to your shithole? Why are you leeching off a White country and the hard work of White people?
I am not an Indian, retard, I have a degree in economics which allows me to actually make perceptive comments on a nations state of its economy and future outlook, so-called ”””expat””””fag.
The same thing applies to Myanmar, Vietnam, Laos, and Sri Lanka, who all have done better since decolonisation, which was universally recognised as economically inefficient colonies by the 1930s for their respective empires.
Now shoo, shoo off you go to Jow Forums
Kek I feel sorry for you if you think empire expanded to fix countries on humanitarian grounded.
>I have a degree in economics
And you're still an idiot.
