Would filling up Lake Eyre with fresh water save Australia's outback from being a scorching desert?

where would you get all that fresh water from?

no

Connecting it to the sea would be the only option.

>save Australia's outback from being a scorching desert?
why?

So that more gooks can emigrate there and complete the asian assimilation.
Resistence is futile.

you what?

They'll find something likeor maybe they'll even import ice from Antarctica

They could pump it from the Pacific Ocean and distill it by using solar dishes and Stirling engines.

Won't happen because it would take longer than a political term and our politicians can only think of anything within that window.

they drew up a plan to create a man made river basically splitting the country down the middle, north to south ocean to ocean. It would have desalination plants along it to provide fresh water and green up the outback.

They decided not to do it though because it would be ridiculously expensive and there's no real need for it in the first place.

christ I can imagine it. labour and liberal would bankrupt the country fucking up a project that size on purpose just so they could blame it on one another.

The parabolic Stirling system wouldn't happen either because it would make people around the world more self-sufficient if it worked, and probably it would. It simply wouldn't be allowed.

But. How bad the water problem then is over there?

sometimes the government tells us not to leave the sprinklers on for more than a few hours a day

It fills up every now and then, but its very saline and is a salt flat normally

Get rid of the salt flat then

Little countries don't get to tell us anything

There is an ecosystem around that salt.

As long as Shorten is in control of the Labor party, Labor will be unelectable - which will be for a long time, because the new rules on electing leaders for Labor make it harder to change candidates and Shorten has curried favour with the grassroots members of the party such as union leaders, who get equal vote with the political members of Labor who know how to actually win an election

And the libs would never do something like this , shit is WAY too expensive and doesn't provide any immediate benefit. Don't forget, these are the people who gave the go-ahead to frack in the Great Artesian Basin (pic related, it's fucking huge and a lot of water systems rely on it), which poisoned the shit out of it

it would probably just evaporate because it doesnt get replenished

>deserts all around
>ecosystem

>deserts dont have ecosystems
>deserts having anything to do with saline lake ecosystems
Wow and it wasn't even an American flag, either
