>I don't take public transportation
I don't take public transportation
>I have to pay the government to move around
haha good post fellow magapede!
What is this aversion the north americans have for the government?
The government doesn't know what's best for you as an individual
>I don't walk everywhere
>the government doesnt know whats best for you as an individual
>he doesn't have free public transport in his city
oh the NEW WORLD
>I can only go to the places listed at the station
>I never explore roads less traveled in my local area
sounds like hell
society comes before you as an individual
Rural and suburban conservatives distrust the cosmopolitan, secular elites.
You see the exact same dynamic in places like Turkey
>letting the big man make your decisions for you
pff haha why would I support niggers and rednecks I am a free man praise trump shadilay
The antithesis of America
>thinking you make your decisions yourself
I hate trump but the rest of that sounds about right
Just because you don't pay taxes doesn't mean others don't
I'm a single 24 yr old and I live in my own apartment.
well america today is definitely not what the founding fathers pictured.
Americans are brainwashed to believe that the government is the enemy so that they don't ask for tax increases on the rich to pay for better social services.
The elites managing the brainwashing lost control of it, however, and it eventually led to Americans believing that all politicians are evil, which led them to elect Trump because he's not a politician.
yeah it's a lot worse.
First generation rich people shouldn't be taxed heavily and then hereditary rich people should get something like 60%
By your own choice I sure...HAH
This joke doesn't make sense. Soyboys love public transport and think driving/car ownership is too stressful.
I'm not interested in a gf at all desu. I'd rather spend my spare time with my friends and save the shitloads of money that i'd inevitably spend on a relationship
Your entire country is as large as my backyard. It's a hell of a lot easier to hook up cheap and reliable public transport when the distances involved are tiny.
Jesus
Japan has relatively low taxes, save for inheritance which is pretty big, and so while a lot of rich people aren't self made but get all that wealth from their parents and family, in Japan the wealth ends up running out in a couple of generations unless each one of them contributes as much as their forefathers.
I think that's a fairly good model.
"free"
fuck you i love my car
i agree
And ?
I make my own decisions. I don't have a family or girlfriend to obligate to
That is a pretty ideal model. In the USA as an example, the amount of wealth inherited far outstrips the amount of wealth earned. The top 1% were almost entirely born into their money, money enough to house and feed the rest of the country. These people also tend to pay next to no tax despite being worth billions.
Why should the government get any the money I leave to my family
Still doesn't mean you make all your own decisions
The problem is, a lot of what sets you up for success is what happens when your parents are still alive.
Posh private schools with inflated grades, SAT tutoring, donations to the school, ritzy private colleges, and so on.
The problem isn't hobbling the rich, it's providing the poor with good enough public services that they can compete with the children of the rich.
Yeah and it's getting worse as markets centralize again. We're reaching robber barons of the 1870s tier
The decisions you make are entirely limited by the framework of your society. This is why the rich controlling the government has a real 'trickle down' impact on the lives of everyone else.
Everything from the media you watch to the food you buy to the places you can work are artificially limited choices proped up with the illusion of personal freedom.
Not the same guy but I live in the middle of fucking nowhere and there really isn't a society that makes the rules here. It's like the wild west
If the rich were taxed like the poor, the poor would have those services via a massive increase in tax revenue to pay for them. It can be easily solved by fair taxation across the board.
>free public transpor
It's not free, you brainlet. Paid by taxes.
Lotta lolbertarians ITT
You guys are fags lol
This is why the US media does everything in its power to focus on transgender bathrooms, the scoop count, mass shootings, and anything else that distracts Americans from issues like tax evasion, wealth inequality, and declining standards of living.
I can make more of my own decisions than you can. I'm not obligated to have a huge chunk of my income taken away from me by force and then redistributed without my permission. Sure it happens here too but it's not even comparable to Europe
Society is in your head, unless you were raised by wolves you're in it
>everybody in society acts the same
AWOOOOOOOO
That where you live is the middle of nowhere has been shaped entirely by the movers and shakers of your society. Cities and townships don't naturally grown, they are formed around trade and business. Why do you think so many one thriving areas of America are now poor, full of drug problems, high unemployment and no work? Your government allowed those industries to offshore the jobs, to cut funding for infrastructure and services, etc. Areas full of opportunity and money tend to be that was because those pulling the strings divert funding and tax breaks in their favour, away from somewhere else.
Most of America was the middle of bum fuck nowhere before people starting doing this, going west. The wild west was a time of massive expansion and opportunity in American history. It saw the age of the spread of trade routes and rail roads.
Holy fuck. Do people actually think like this?
What do you think representative democracies are?
Well, being raised by wolved could explain your poor reading skills
Rousseau is different than Locke
I take public transit to work, but otherwise the public transit in my city is shit. I use my car for the gym, church, grocery shopping, etc.
Pic unrelated.
