they put them in the fridge

Was in a discord server today and all the Americans said they don't take off their shoes when they go inside the house and some lie on their bed with their shoes on, doesn't that spread germs? And I googled it and apparently this is a common thing for Americans to not take off their shoes inside the house

I don't understand this meme at all. Everyone I've ever known takes their shoes off shortly after entering a home, unless they are planning on leaving soon.

Why do Russians squat on the toilet and most of the time break the toilet because European toilets aren't meant to be squatted upon? Maybe it has something to do with us having a minimum salary 10x what an average Russian makes in Russia.

Just google "Why do Americans wear shoes inside the house" and a bunch of sites/videos/articles pop up, plus several Americans I talked to affirmed it
"I tell them that Americans often wear nice shoes that are not intended for outdoor use alone. This is also true in Italy and Britain, countries known for making fine footwear.

It's also part of the work ethic. In America, you're supposed to be doing something productive nearly all the time, even at home, and that means being dressed. Going barefoot or in slippers, except around bedtime, is slovenly, unless you're at the seaside or campground.

Asking Americans to remove their shoes risks offending those unacquainted with the custom. It may be taken as a comment upon their cleanliness and even as an infringement of their right to decide how they will behave."

During a trip to America as a kid I was hosted by a family. I didn't remove my shoes the whole 2 weeks I was there. The smell was so bad when I came back that I had to put the shoes in the freezer.

Ill time stamp my toliet senpai, and Chinese do that way more, Swiss trains had to put up a "dont squat on the toliet sign" in Chinese and German had to put on up in Arabic

it's called Dosoku and it's an important American tradition, you wouldn't understand

what's wrong with it

This, I went to an American guys house and he wore his shoes inside the house, I thought it was just him that did that because he wanted to show he is rich and can afford to clean the carpet, didn't know it was a widespread phenomenon

You're saying you have more money than a random bum here that makes 1000 euros per month? I think you are poor-ass motherfuckers. vot vam CCCP

Really though.
I was out for dinner with my gf at one of her friends places in the UP of michigan and she walked right in with her shoes. The husband and wife were wearing shoes. I instinctively took mine off in the front hall. Later she took them off when we were relaxing on the couch to rub her feet (they were peep toe wedge things).

wtf?

You misread it dumbass, I said i thought he wanted to show his wealth by not taking off his shoes in the house. By the way I am not even Russian.

I don't see what the big deal is if I haven't been walking on dirt. If all I did was take a stroll on the sidewalk or go to the store they're not gonna be caked in mud.

Okay, thank you Dmitri.

its weird af. though I will say, in my experience Alaskians are sensible enough to take their shoes off.

What if the shoes are wearing the americans?

they don't
they wear red cups

i've lived here for 22 years and have only experienced it in two dif households in my life. my high school bro invited me and another friend over to watch the descent and told us that we could feel free to wear our shoes but he took his off and so did we. same shit the other time but it was a girl. most americans wear indoor shoes/slippers at home and i think thats whats throwing people off

Because my closet is on the second floor and I'm not going to carry them down to the door. I mean it's not like we don't clean our shoes and we mostly only wear them in the communal areas of the house. Based on what I've seen from British TV they do exactly the same thing, but for some reason this is a meme on Jow Forums that I genuinely don't understand

>and some lie on their bed with their shoes on
This is the most horrifying part.

Why are russians faggots scared of microgerms ?

woah...

Im always scared to take off my shoes in someone else's house

What do you mean? They may be stolen?

It seems rude desu
Like im planning to sleep on their couch and raid their fridge

thats because they probably walk through a lot of snow or mud. most americans who don't take their shoes off simply aren't dealing with those things often, so the germs theyre bringing in are invisible

Kek, now imagine that here you are supposed to take off your shoes, plus your hosts may offer you a pair of "designated guest slippers" (I mean slippers used by all their guests before you).

Because they are americans

Why would I want to get my feet dirty

>doesn't that spread germs?
It doesn't but it's still dirty.

It depends on how nice and clean their floor is. I live in a shithole so I usually keep my shoes on but remove them when I visit somebody.

How about having a clean house?

germ wise its not much different vs your bare feet but wearing shoes inside will track dirt and crap all round the house

I take my shoes off and always have
Had to teach my girlfriend to do it when we started dating

Why do they even wear shoes when they cant even walk lmao

>Portuguese
>owning shoes
What are you, related to the president or something?

When I go inside I take off my outside shoes and put on my inside flipflops
My family does the same thing, so do others I know.

It takes a high level of intelligence to take off shoes.

Desu in my experience this is what people in California do if they don't just take their shoes off
Feels good being civilized

lol, I'm northeast. I guess its a family culture thing.

this
I take my shoes off in my own house but whenever there are a lot of people in someone else's house people typically don't take them off, especially if you don't know the guy well and you're just being the extra friend

Sitting in my backyard in flipflops right now
Sun is just starting to go down
Comfy as fuck

what state may I ask my good Filipino-American?

NorCal
Also I'm white but my gf is half Filipino

NorCal is beautiful, really like your guy's forests, make sure not to burn anything down okay my good Korean-american
:^)

Umm most of the fires happen in SoCal
They also steal our water

I don't. In fact, I get away with being barefoot at work.

... why in the world would I take off my shoes inside a house? Walking around with bare feet sounds disgusting and slovenly. No self-respecting person would ever take off their shoes in someone elses home, I'd be very offended if someone did that in my home.

Attached: animer16.png (680x974, 1.76M)

Yeah this is it. It is too comfortable and familiar for us. Also American streets are pretty clean.

I wish we did the no shoes thing.

Fug, I take my shoes off in other people's houses all the time. Have I been rude as fuck this entire time without realizing it?

Take shoes off? And have to see other people's feet? Human feet are revolting.

I don't care

I only do this if I want to break in new shoes or if I'm leaving my house again shortly after re-entering

>Sitting in my backyard in flipflops right now
Literal caveman. Wear shoes like a civilized person, Steve.

Attached: 1505076616796.jpg (494x494, 24K)

I only take them off if I know I won't be going outside for the day. I'll leave them on if I'm too lazy, though. I'm sure others do the same.

They would get dirty if you took them outside you stupid Yurpoors

This is very disgusting ...
It brings all the dirt and filth of the street into the home and contaminate everything.
