Part of their ancestors, Bulgars came from around Volga river, south of Urals who spoke Turkic language.
Around same area centuries later was located Kazan Khanate. Today in that area are Baskortostans and Tatarstans Republics. In one of them lays the city of Kazan in whichs Tatar population grows sentiment called Bulgarism - thought of them being descendents of Bulgars.
