This is the end of Ukraine as transit hub and will lead to pain and suffering for their people. A major long-term victory both for Russia and the EU. For yanks not so much!

Russia already has a monopoly so if we were to normalise the situation we should be giving all the market to Norwegians until it's more or less 50-50.

Not really, energetical independence is more important issue here. Russia has a long history of using gas and oil to exert influence on their customers.

Norway has like 20 times less gas reserves. Sure, its exports now are comparable to Russian, but that can't last forever.

No, those are major generalisations and simplifications and the situation is much more complicated.
