I don't care about asians. Fuck off.

I want to find love in Asia

because french like to discover and share different cultures and asia has arguably the best culture after westerners, do oyu like your (our) trains btw ?

France is not really interested in Asia in general but it has deep cultural ties with Japan and some links in Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam where it used to have colonies.

Maybe historically, French were a bit more interested in China that say, Germany, but it would be equivalent to the UK in my book.
More recently Jacques Chirac was a known expert on ancient Chinese Bronze, there is an anecdote on him correcting the datation of a piece in a museum during a state visit. It is said that this knowledge of their culture brought him a great deal of respect from Chinese leaders.

France literally build japanese army in late xix century..
strongest asian diaspora in europe
first western country to import mangas and animes
>not interested in asia
yeah whatever

we only like manga

>Ties with Japan
>Reads manga
>Has diaspora from it's colonies

How are the things you point any different from what I said ?
The interest of France in Asia is limited to a few countries.
I don't see a lot of Malaysian or Indonesian in Paris and I don't think that there are that much ties to Corea for example (apart from the recent surge of popularity for corean culture around the world)

the french were huge turkboos in 17th and 18th centuries

>korean culture

I don't think I've ever heard anyone say this out loud

korean high speed trains are french technology tho, we invested in that country before muuuu kpop

Yeah and Egypt has bought Mirage 2000, wouldn't say there are special ties between the countries because of that.
Egypt is much closer to the UK because of the colonial history desu.

France is a global economic and military power, they'll sale their shit to whoever is interested.

My point was, outside of Japan and maybe it's ex colonies France isn't particularly more interested in Asia than other countries.
As a matter of fact France is heavily more involved in North America

>Egypt and France has no ties
go read a book lmao

>strongest asian diaspora in europe
It's like saying we're interested in Maghreb because we have a fuckton of maghrebis

>we're interested in Maghreb
but we are GĂ©rard

>560 French people
>40% of the French diaspora in South Korea

Wow surely impressive.

They don't have any special tie indeed. If we talk about geopolitical interest for your gov Egypt is quite low on the list of French priorities. France is much closer and interested in Qatar, Syria, Lebanon or the whole Maghreb.
