I like it because the language has a lot of similarities with English so I don't even know the language but I can still recognize a lot of vocabulary words

Dutch is probably the one of the only two empires who failed to spread their language (the other being the Germans). But the Germans had their colonies so briefly while Dutch had had Indonesia for centuries.
