A true military training regiment should look like this.
- 20 mile march with Gear and Gun every day
- 2 hour PT every morning
- 0-4 hours of Sleep every day
- 500 calories below maintenance
- 12 mile run in under 30 minutes every day

I have a friend in the army. He had a roommate who was also a soldier (female), and he said she was a better soldier than him. She had served longer though and his field was different, but still. But he also dislikes women in the army for this reason; the instinct to shield them instead of seeing them as capable equals. Imagine the ego damage of killing an enemy woman instead of a man.

user... I know it would make them seem tough, but this would just fuck their health up. Rest days are important for their muscles, and that kind of calorie deficit would also fuck their strength over a longer period (if you expect them to do hard work outs everyday)

Not really. Soldiers are needed in all fields, such as gunners, drivers, pilots, medics and surgeons, strategists, operators for various systems, etc
And every soldier get their basic training to be functional in conventional terrain war if needed anyway. Special forces are special for a reason.

I meant in physical and mental fortitude, no army should even consider an average soldier, most basic soldiers can't survive on existential minimum combined with grueling training, your average soldier can't take interrogation, you average soldier can't deal with all of the shit a true warrior should be able to deal with.

Those soldiers are not meant to be warriors. They're meant to fill their purpose in war which is the field in which they work.
My friend is an AA gunner and armed terrain vehicle driver. His purpose is in a war is to man AA systems and drive armed terrain vehicles. He is trained in field combat, urban combat, a wide variety of firearms and weapon systems and knows exactly what to do in various situations. And yes, he has done the deprivation training you spoke of earlier, such as not eating more than egg for days, and going whole weeks in field training with barely any food. And he has also withstood interrogation training including waterboarding if I remember correctly. He is also surprisingly knowledgeable in military strategy and the like, I've even had discussions with him about it.
I think you underestimate the average Joe in the forces. Not that I know what higher ranks or other fields have to endure, but anyway.
