Most houses in Australia lack air con and our hottest state routinely has major power blackouts during summer because the infrastructure is so shit.
It's only really newer houses that have air con hooked up and when it comes to renting, it's pretty common for boomer cunts who own a shitload of houses to cheap out as much as possible (often not even ensuring a functioning phone line) which means more expensive installations such as air conditioning don't get installed.
It isn't like cold countries that have cheap infrastructure established to keep buildings toasty warm during the winter.
Our libraries get backed during the summer by people looking for a shady place to sit with air con. Yeah, it's that fucking pathetic. This country is third world in so many aspects because the old rich cunts who run the country don't give a shit about the rest.
