Why are there so many more Amerindians in Latin America than there are in the US and Canada?

There were more of them before the europeans arrived (mesoamerica and andes) and they had different cultures. Nomadic steppe culture is harder to socialize so extermination in Cono sur and North America was more viable than just enslaving them like in Mexico and Peru.

Most Latin Americans in the US aren't Native though

>Canada's shade of green is not seen in the key
What?

I thought Bolivia is 80% Mestizo? That's what the census says

>chile
>3.2%

come on now.

the "mapuches" from the last census are half real mapuches half larpers

I feel like Amerindians in Latin America are undercounted, and the ones in the US is an overcount

they are unnironically 99% amerindian

I also play CK2.

it really depends on the wording of the question, and the censi, polls and surveys in different countries and in different times have used different ways to capture the indigenous population and the racial and ethnic background of the population.

Do you have one single fact to back up that asinine assertion?

kek, in the last census here if you identify like 1/23423.5 native muh heritage, bam!, you're native

Cause you tried to kill the natives
>beat the indian; save the man
Same with here too

but don't remember any option for asian or some other exotic shit desu.

yeah, things like gender and being from some native group are completely up to what the guy answers you

I participated in the census and had to ask everyone their genders even though it was always obvious

Like Argentina?

>According to Jose Neinstein, a native white Brazilian and executive director of the Brazilian-American Cultural Institute in Washington, in the United States, "If you are not quite white, then you are black." However, in Brazil, "If you are not quite black, then you are white."
It really depends on how much non-ameridian blood you consider is too much for someone to not be counted as an amerindian. Most of us here are mutts (pardos). I have a significant amount of amerindian blood and also look somewhat like one, but I don't identify as such (I identify as pardo), which is what they ask in the censuses.

>tried to kill the natives

Well what was left of them.
Ironically the friendly colonists unknowingly wiped most of them out just by shaking hands with them.

That's innacurate. Both the US and Canada have more Natives than most Latino countries (except a few), we do have more per square kilometer, mainly because all of our countries are smaller than yours except for Brazil, but even then, Canada has a lot more natives than most South American countries proportion wise

Most Mexicans in the US don't have Amerindian features

Mexicans don't count in this.
We have 3,000,000 pure natives

Brazil and US have lost all their amerindians in the Uruguay-Paraguay war.
