Dont come :D

Why Brazil?

Move to Southern-Brazil. It's white. So I've heard.

Career opporitunity
Too late friend.

Moving to Porto Alegre (pic related)

become a ref

okay

Hopefully you are getting salary in USD or CAD

The pay is a bit less than what I would get payed for the same work in Canada, but with lower cost of living it should work out fine.

>but with lower cost of living
I am not so sure about that......

Sao Paulo was fairly expensive when I heard it from my Brazilian friends

Guess I'll cross off that idea
The place I'm staying in is cheap, that's all I really know.

Don't get stabbed

Which zone of Porto Alegre are you moving into?

Well, idk where in Canada you are from but I suppose the rent won't be too expensive if you aren't going to some big city there...... (Mb safe place can be more expensive but that's a different story)

No clue, all I know is who's picking up at the airport, and what the inside of the apartment I'm staying in looks like.

>Southern-Brazil
>White

take your medication because you're out of your fucking mind.

Brazil is one of the most expensive places to live. you'll be paying nearly or over double what you would pay there.

The place I'm staying at can easily be paid for with what I'll be making since the organization set me up with it (and its only till August).
Whats so bad about it?

>all those 20 floor skyscraper
do they know another form of buildings?

Well, the general rules of living in a crap city applies here:

-Avoid wearing flashy clothes and jewelry
-Dress like a local
-Act like you know where are you going
-Ignore everyone
-Don't use your cellphone on the street
-Don't go for a walk during the night, especially in the central areas
-Pay attention to your surroundings

Most of the violent crime in POA happens in the favelas and are drug-related. Muggings are common there, so walk with stuff that you really don't mind losing.

Thanks. I'll be using Taxis to and from work and apparently we have large safes in our rooms.

Reminds me of when I was young in Atlanta

Taxi is very expensive here. Better use uber or public transportation. I think the subway in porto alegre is quite good.

shoot yourself before you go.

Is Brazil really this shitty? I swear your county was decent once

Okay, thanks for the info. I'm surprised I didn't learn any of this at the seminar I had a week ago.

>-Dress like a local
that is?

dressing in any rags you find in the gutter

Almost forgot, avoid using taxis, once they know you are a foreigner they will try to squeeze money of you by taking a longer route, stick to Uber and Lyft and you will be alright. If you are planning to stay more than 6 months I think you are allowed to drive, but I don't exactly know the rules very well. Good luck on your stay there.

If you are street smart you can have a good time here, we got our problems but we kind of learn to live with them.

Wear simple clothing, avoid standing out.

What makes a man go to Brazil ... Lust for bunda? Beheadings? Or were you just born with a heart full of huehuehue?

Dye you hair and beard jet black, use brown contacts. Now you're golden

I'm working for a university research team on urban planning in rural areas of the country (we'll be doing a lot of traveling and Porto Alegre is basically just where I live and organize research).

My family's Italian and French, so according to my Jow Forums knowledge I already look the part.

So you're not even going to try to get your dick wet? Might as well have gone to Chile or Peru in that case.

I bet 20 dollars that Mohammed will run you over before I get hit by a stray bullet from a gang shootout

I don't fuck prostitutes, especially not ones in foreign counties.

>he gets off his safe and comfy great Canada for money
hope I find you on Liveleak soon

>canadian man is flayed while his head is on a pike
can't wait to see you on liveleak / bestgore
keep us updated

Love you too guys.

>I think the subway in porto alegre is quite good.

Porto Alegre doesn't have a subway lol, you don't know much about Porto Alegre huh?

Anyways OP, i'm from Porto Alegre, if you need a bodyguard you can hire me.

Research for what?

shirtless and gym shorts, sandals

Don't get your hopes up.

Okay, thanks friend.
How urban planning can affect crime and standards of living. We'll be doing a lot of field work in rural areas specifically.

drink some caipirinhas

brazil sounds like a real hellhole

Brazil is crime land, being a robber, mugger, trafficker or bank robber are considered career options here.

Brazil is the land of oportunity

It was, back in 1918.

>Don't go for a walk during the night, especially in the central areas
>Pay attention to your surroundings

Those two are the only ones I agree tb fair. Don't know if i live in a bubble or you guys are really paranoid, but at least for me this shithole is not that bad
