>be me American from the United States of America. A country in North America with an American culture. >learn English when I was 4 >assimilate to the culture >more American than American Why don't they love me Jow Forums ? I mean if I ever travel anywhere in the U.S. that's even a bit rural. I would have to deal with the thoughts and mentalities that I'd think only kids would have. I thought you guys wanted assimilation? Isn't this enough?
I've been interested in Europe and the idea of European nationalism. It seems they are considered part of their nations immediately. Which way answerer? Port'ugal or Norsk El Scandinavos? Or maybe should I give the Good Old' US another try?
I certainly would be glad to have citizens like you. If you know nothing but one culture, how can you not be seen as part of that culture? Makes no sense
Christian Peterson
>learn English when I was 4 man u r slow af
Elijah Thompson
>He didn't learn English on day one. This is why you'll never be American, boy.
Jordan Adams
Exactly! When I was I growing up it was seen as normal and good to embrace the county''s culture. I know English better than my native tongue. I can read college level material and reflect on them with the 'republican' mind of an American. Republican in the sense of our form of government. I mean I do all this but I'm still looked at as some kind of backwards foreigner. Even though they didn't even give me a chance and talk to me. They judge me before I can speak.
Isaac Foster
Damn it! Why couldn't I be like the others that learned English at 1 years old!
Not accepting you is a big misstep for your countrymen. When minority groups aren't allowed to assimilate and integrate peacefully and with respect, that's when they turn to extremist alternatives.
Lucas Long
not exactly assimilate or integrate, but you get what I mean. Be seen as equal members of society
Ian Howard
I mean not it's not the same in every region. I lived in a couple of regions. The Northeast was the nicest to me. I live in a small town and whenever I'm in class or working a job. It's always the same. "Wow, you speak English really well." They talk really slowly to me. Even though I used to hang out and conversation with them in the Northeast.
The thing is that not all of them are like that. I've had enough experience at my young age to know that it depends on the place. Though, where I live they don't even give you a chance.
Angel Robinson
>nationality I'm American. Unless you meant. >what ethnicity are you? I'm of African descant.
Andrew Phillips
If your ancestors didn't fight in the revolutionary war, you don't get to be American.
Ethan Moore
>Nigger Well there's your problem
Jose Perry
you write like an ESL also you're black and don't conform to the African American subculture sorry bro, try Toronto
Michael Reed
Unless you wanna take the hard road of proving them wrong or whatever, maybe you should move.
Ain't that the way? When black people can't be accepted for being equally patriotic and cringy american as southerners, they turn to inwardness, black nationalism and segregated communities. Black nationalism, when regular nationalism doesn't let them join. The Malcom X approach, when the MLK approach fails.
Caleb Thomas
>you write like an ESL An ESL that passed his Analytical writing class. The professor loved my writings and poems so much she told me that I should go into the field of Public Affairs. An ESL that edited a bunch of WHITE students papers filled with 5th grade spelling and grammar mistakes! An ESL that scored a 110 on his college writing and reading comprehension assessment. Scoring better than most of the whites who took the test the same day I did. >try Toronto I'd love to visit someday. I love Canadians.
I'm not saying you have poor English skills im saying you write like someone that learned english as a second language. Hanging around imageboards and chat rooms will help you learn how to type more naturally.
Cameron Cox
The thing is I grew up in the Northeast and people weren't retarded or racist while I was living there. I mean most of the white kids were well disciplined. It was really /comfy/
Well, yeah. I type differently when I'm writing a paper for one of my polisci classes than when I'm just fucking around on the internet lol. I'm not one of those people that spellcheck and see's if another user makes a grammar mistake. Just so I can ridicule him for the sake of an internet flamewar. I don't write as much as I used to. Thanks for the advice through.
We are loved in the urban cities. I was just talking about how I'm dealing with prejudice whenever I go to a small town or regions that aren't highlighted in the map.
