The only thing I can come up with is that they are remodeling the entire apartment, but even so I'm at a loss as to what there is to drill for this long. I'm still able to drone out reps and new words during their lunch breaks and in the evening but I'm half asleep so comprehending grammar is pretty hard.

I have to imagine these aren't really good for "real" listening practice, but I usually end up watching more of these than videos with actual voices
I bought a tablet for reading and learning Japanese, but I actually much prefer using my computer for the latter. I don't know what you wanted to do with the tablet, but using a regular notebook, a laptop and smartphone is what works best for me.
I'm struggling to remember hiragana words of all things. They probably make up 50-60% of the words I can't remember when doing reviews. Adverbs are especially damn near impossible to remember for me right now. Any tips on how to deal with this? My current plan is to make a physical flash card deck for all the hiragana words I can't remember and just drill it for a day or so. Physical flash cards have been working really well for me, my retention rate has gone up 10%.

That's normal. This is why I like kanji, it definitely makes reading much easier and faster due to faster recall from mnemonics and compound kanji meanings can be deduced from both components and the context being used.

I thought about ankidroning and using it for reading, since my phone’s screen is quite small and it’s bothersome to look up words, and a computer screen’s resolution is too horizontal to read comfortay.
That also makes me wonder, how does anki integration work? Can I usually use the same deck on multiple devices, where is the data stored? Does it make an offline back-up, or do I risk losing my dara permanently?

If you make an account on ankiweb, all your decks and shit are stored on their servers. You can do reviews etc on the site as well if I'm not mistaken. Your decks will sync each time you close the desktop app.

Find a native to turn to. It's literally impossible to learn how to speak (communicate) if you don't have someone to communicate with. Can't learn how to swim without being in water either.

Not as bad as me, bro. I can't read katakana for the life of me despite "knowing" it. It just sounds so unnatural that my brain can't recognize wtf it's supposed to say. Should be literally the easiest thing. My reading speed for hiragana and kanji is pretty decent but I sound like a kindergartener when there's a spot of katakana.

You should say it Japanese style, because they are Japanese words, despite being loaned from English. You don't say on'yomi words with tones and Mandarin inflections.

Is there a nuance difference or some other kind of difference between conjugating the verb or the state of being when it comes to the exploratory の? e.g. 「読まないんだ」vs 「読むんじゃない」
I get the sense that perhaps the former is more specific and the latter is more broad, but I could also entirely be full of shit.

The clearest translation for のだ in its function as adding an explanative tone is "it is that".
「読まないんだ」= it's that I don't read
e.g.

I actually started doing my anki practice with my left hand (I'm right handed.) End of the second day and my handwriting is already nearly as good as with my right. It does take longer but it's kind of fun.
I started because number pad and enter key are on the right, so it's more convenient to write with your left.
Anyway just try it, unlike writing in english cursive it's pretty easy to do runes, it's mostly just a bunch of straight lines.

You could help someone learning Japanese in exchange for help with your English. Your mistakes are pretty basic, any fluent speaker could correct you and from what I've seen many people are looking for a native Japanese speaker to converse with. From my experience, when it comes to English and you've got the basics down as you do, you need to practice production a lot to get sentence structure and grammar to become second nature. Unfortunately passive learning through media isn't the most efficient method for doing this. You see TONS of people who have the exact same issues you are having where I'm from because everyone here learned passively from cartoons and shit when they were young and did jack shit in school when it came to grammar and such.
Yeah like the other guy said, just consume english media, i more or less learned the whole language playing runescape and watching english youtubers in primary school, in english class i only sleep.
