>Thursday already
I've noticed only the Yes posters and campaign leaflets contain the Irish language. It seems the No west brits have completely forgotten about the other language we speak.
Perhaps they just wanted to save ink
Are there many posters near you?
There's none where I am.
If I was an Taoiseach I'd make it so that we'd officially refuse to recognise uisce beatha by the name "whiskey" or "whisky" and that we'd only officially recognise the term uisce beatha.
This but for every English word.
some mad one on joe duffy
feel like pure shit just want the brits back in power x
why do you cunts wanna ban abortion
Using an Irish proxy does not make you Irish, Nigel
haha I'm in Dublin, not a proxy
>Ascensio Domini is not a bank holiday in Ireland
Very unchristian of you
That's an AWFULLY gay pic.
Why do you want to let women degrade society further?
>look up eurovision winners
>Ireland won 1992, 1993, 1994, and 1996
>UK wins in Dublin in 1981 and 1997
What the fuck? Is it rigged?
only seen it once and it's the one you posted from SF
Fuck Microsoft. I am fucking done with Windows 10. It has screwed me over for the last fucking time. Shower of cunts couldn't build a stable OS if their life depended on it. I'm going to dig out one of my old laptops this Summer and learn how to use Linux and then hopefully get it working on my main PC.
Atta boi. I'm switching to Linux with dual boot (W7 or nothing) if/when I upgrade.
The update I take it? I've been trying to keep it disabled for the last few days but I don't know how much longer I can last.
>tfw can't run Linux operating systems at reasonable resolutions because Nvidia hates Linux
Is it time to move to AMD?
>woke up work laptop from hibernation after lunch to show a coworker something I had been working on all morning
>all apps are either unresponsive or crashing moments after launch
>decide to restart laptop
>laptop decides that it's going to update now
>completes initial installation after about 20 minutes and shuts down
>when it restarts there's just a blank black screen
>nothing happens for over an hour
>laptop appears to be bricked
>lost everything I had been working on today
>UK wins in Dublin in 1981 and 1997
It must have been morale boosting for their performers to play in front of their home crowd

Wasn't there another /éire/ thread earlier this morning?
All the stuff about vulture fund sympathy kind of annoys me. Why are we supposed to feel sorry for people who haven't paid for their mortgage in 9 years, what else is likely to happen when you own something on credit and fail to repay for years?
Why is having them written off even on the table and why should people bad with money and responsibility get a cheaper house than those working hard to keep up their repayments? Evictions are just a necessary evil that must happen in those circumstances.
First for shit enough day but I guess it could've been worse.
>because Nvidia hates Linux
I believe we had this discussion already.
What distro are you using again, you definitely weren't using the nouveau driver?
>It has screwed me over for the last fucking time
Proud of you desu, but I shall wait until I see these words turned into meaningful actions.
>going to dig out one of my old laptops this Summer
Alternatively download VirtualBox and you could be running Linux in half an hour, just for testing and provided your laptop/desktop is capable of virtualising stuff.
>Is it time to move to AMD?
Potentially, there are certainly more arguments in their favour over these last couple of years.
Less privacy issues, better and more open-source driver issues and less of those meltdown issues from the start of the year. Plus they are apparently pretty decent bang for the buck now?
>lost everything I had been working on today
Christ, sounds really shitty. You have my sympathy desu, what little good it will do you.
Does your company not have something like OneDrive that backs everything up?
>laptop appears to be bricked
It it working now or is it still broken? Think it is just Windows or is the entire laptop only fit for the bin?
>Does your company not have something like OneDrive that backs everything up?
Yes, but there's a manual element to it and I hadn't synced the file in question yet because I wanted to check something with a coworker first.
>It it working now or is it still broken?
It was still giving a blank black screen when I last checked this evening. I've brought it home to see if I can fix it, but I'm really not in the mood.
>Think it is just Windows or is the entire laptop only fit for the bin?
Definitely a Windows issue. If I could just get it back up and running I could do a reset.
Well that's worrying. Did you do anything to try and disable updates or did it just decide to fuck up?
Since it's a work laptop I take it your employer would be able to recover data or at the very least be understanding of your situation?
>I believe we had this discussion already.
I believe we did, several months ago
>What distro are you using again, you definitely weren't using the nouveau driver?
I tried Ubuntu and that wouldn't even let me install it, and I tried Debian but after hours of trying solutions I found online, including downloading all the proper drivers, nothing fixed it.
Excellent post. The rate of repossession in Ireland is a fraction of the European average last time I checked.
>Did you do anything to try and disable updates or did it just decide to fuck up?
I thought I had them disabled to the best of my ability, but from what I've read online, it's not unheard for Microsoft to be able to push them through anyway.
>but I'm really not in the mood
Understandable desu.
>Definitely a Windows issue
Is there not some sort of support team at your company that could maybe help you with it?
Or is it a personal laptop you have filled with high quality Graf images you wouldn't want them getting your hands on?
>nothing fixed it
Sorry to hear desu, but there is always a way... even if it may take many hours and days to get there.
You back to Windows now?
*their
>Since it's a work laptop I take it your employer would be able to recover data or at the very least be understanding of your situation?
Understanding, yes. The possibility of recovery remains to be seen.
>Is there not some sort of support team at your company that could maybe help you with it?
Yes, but they said they wouldn't be able to take a look at it until tomorrow so I said I'd hold onto it until then.
>Or is it a personal laptop you have filled with high quality Graf images you wouldn't want them getting your hands on?
It is a work laptop, but there is some personal stuff on it. However, it's not some stored in such a way that you could just stumble across it and see what was there.
*not stored
*reformats your hard drive after copying work essentials to remove any other potential problems*
There's no personal data stored on that laptop that I don't have stored elsewhere. Most of it is just there for convenience.
ireland give me money
That's wise of you.
Just raise taxes in Constanti-OH WAIT
>Most of it is just there for convenience
I take there isn't anything you wouldn't want other people finding, like anime or your large collection of lewds?
>image
Cute.
What was so shit about your day?
Loads of work combined with some *redacted* and a boat load of *redacted*.
>Just raise taxes in Constanti-OH WAIT
Bit rude.
>I take there isn't anything you wouldn't want other people finding, like anime or your large collection of lewds?
>storing lewds on a work computer
Anything that I wouldn't want anybody to see is stored in such a way that only I can access it.
No Jow Forums in the browser history? You said you post from your work laptop before, no?
>boat load
That's the best load.
If they were worried about what sites he was visiting then they'd be able to see it on their work internet. And if they were really against it they'd have the site blocked.
>they'd be able to see it on their work internet
That's true, though they mightn't necessarily be digging through the hundreds of websites people visit each day.
I don't browse Jow Forums on my company's wifi for that reason though. Also the argument they wouldn't be digging through his browser, unless of course they just opened it to check and Jow Forums appeared in one of those regularly visited webpages your browser suggests.
>if they were really against it they'd have the site blocked
Less about that and probably more about not about wanting them to know he browses it.
Jeez, MSG is fucked up.
>main character is 15-17
>good with mechanics
>scouting party ends up attacking colony and aims to destroy the military base
>traumatized by seeing two people die in an explosion
>uncovers top secret documents on the latest project (project V - the Gundam)
>finds Gundam and tries to use it only having read the manual for a few minutes
>kills two troops that were supposed to be scouting
>almost destroys colony in the process
>ends up forced to use Gundam since he has the most experience
>child is killing real people in war
>won't even shoot at enemy commander if he's not in a vehicle
>one day refuses to pilot
>can't sleep
>probably having serious mental problems
>officer in command comes into his room and slaps him around and tells him he's "not a man" (whatever the fuck that means)
JFC, you lean on a kid to fight your battles, and you beat him up once he breaks? The fuck is wrong with these people? Even his "friends" were disappointed and completely unsympathetic.
can you imagine being he sort of person who watches a soap?7
I hope you had a nice day
>I don't browse Jow Forums on my company's wifi for that reason though
PHONE POSTER DETECTED
>PHONE POSTER DETECTED
Please, I have transcended to tablets.
>I hope you had a nice day
Already s-said I didn't.... w-why does no one listen ;_;
How was your day(s) desu?
>I hope you had a nice day
It was meh. That incredibly high quality image has improved it though.
>Jeez, MSG is fucked up.
There's a reason it's such an influential series.
>>traumatized by seeing two people die in an explosion
There was a lot more than two people killed in that blast. And Sayla had the nerve to give shit to Kai for hiding out.
>>officer in command comes into his room and slaps him around
Keep in mind Bright is a rookie himself and also quite young. They were under a lot of stress at the time being attacked in enemy territory and he wasn't about to let his ace pilot stay in bed during a fight.
>The fuck is wrong with these people? Even his "friends" were disappointed and completely unsympathetic
Because they're in a warzone and needed Amuro to do his duty otherwise they could all die. It's shitty that a bunch of civilians got essentially drafted but the fact of the matter is they're a part of the war whether they like it or not. Everyone else had been helping White Base like Amuro had but without the glory of getting to be the Gundam's pilot. I won't spoil what's coming up next but Bright was right to worry about Amuro acting immature.
If this is your reaction to 0079 I can't wait until you see Zeta.
>Already s-said I didn't.... w-why does no one listen ;_;
I didn't say you had a nice day,but that I wish you had had one
>How was your day(s) desu?
Bank holiday so rather boring, was invited to dinner yesterday, was nice
Plans for the weekend my Irish friend?
>I have transcended to tablets
Any good?
Well, thunderbolt was fairly messed up, and it was good seeing the sides come together to end the bloodshed.
I understand that they need Amuro to fight, but they really should have a backup pilot. He's basically defending the place by himself which is a huge thing to ask even an experienced soldier.
the weather was quite good today
>was invited to dinner yesterday
At someone's home or in a restaurant?
>Plans for the weekend my Irish friend
Sleep, lots of it. You?
>Any good
I jest, I don't use one for posting. I do have one but never use it, was quite an expensive one at the time.
>At someone's home or in a restaurant?
Home,was quite decent
>Sleep, lots of it. You?
I have family celebrations on the next two weekends so I'll be rather busy plus the usual drinking
>I jest, I don't use one for posting. I do have one but never use it, was quite an expensive one at the time.
Which one do you have?
What do you use it for?
>I understand that they need Amuro to fight, but they really should have a backup pilot
The people intended to be pilots were killed in the attack on the colony. The whole reason White Base was relying on random teenagers is because they have no other choice. Kai, Hayato and I think Job John would be able to pilot Gundam fine considering their piloting experience but that's moot when Amuro gets so attached to the Gundam that he doesn't want anyone else piloting it.
They expand on this in the Ramba Ral arc which you should be reaching soon.
>Which one do you have?
Some Samsung one from a few years ago, was around €350 I think?
>What do you use it for?
Nothing anymore, I used to watch YouTube on it and read manga etc.
>plus the usual drinking
When will you be giving up alcohol desu? Hear it is one of the first steps towards sainthood.
>that gif
CMON GIMME THE GUNDAM PLUSHIE
Right, I know the personnel died, but there are still other hands on deck, and it's not HIS vehicle. Ryu should be handling it if he doesn't want to do it or needs rest.
>They expand on this in the Ramba Ral arc
Maybe Wing spoiled me by everyone freely using all the different mobile suits, but they're not your sacred special zone.
>Nothing anymore, I used to watch YouTube on it and read manga etc.
Ah I see, the hype around tablets seems to have died down mostly
>When will you be giving up alcohol desu?
Never
>Hear it is one of the first steps towards sainthood.
I enjoy far too many sinful things
Alcohol will be the least of my problems I suppose, but God knows I love him
Could have been better.
>there are still other hands on deck
Very few. Bright and Ryu are the only named characters I can remember that were part of the original crew. Pretty much everyone else is a colony recruit.
>Ryu should be handling it
Even though the other pilots could pilot Gundam just fine if they had time to train in it, the thing is there's no time to train. White Base is understaffed and under a lot of enemy pressure since Char diverted their landing on Earth to the middle of Zeon territory. There simply isn't the time or resources available to get another pilot up to Amuro's level when Amuro is still there and they need the rest of the crew to man their own posts.
>it's not HIS vehicle
>they're not your sacred special zone
They deal with this in some upcoming episodes.
Don't get greedy now.
wearing a skirt
You just tryna gay up the thread, huh?
Thought that was a different character for a minute.
>tfw eurovision stream blocked in the US
is there a semi final on tonight?
Irexit soon bros
Not a chance.

Let's not be siding with the crowd that believes that taking our language, culture, religion and freedom from us, killing millions of us, continuing to unethically occupy our land and still implying ownership of us through usage of certain phrases, is more democratic than the EU.
>brainwashed, cartoon watching idiots can't see the forest for the trees
wew boy
>he thinks Ireland will ever leave the EU when we're the most pro-EU country in the union by a wide margin
>falling for the eurosceptic meme
>calling anyone else brainwashed
Imagine being an Irish eurosceptic. Waking up every day and remembering that you live in a country in which 90%+ of the population is in favour of EU membership.
His time will come
>Imagine being an Irish eurosceptic. Waking up every day and remembering that you live in a country in which 90%+ of the population is not in favour of UK membership.
Ftfy.
Let's be fair, the only eurosceptics in the country are the far right west brit UKIP and Trump supporting types who see our European identity as a threat to our British connection.
If we were to leave the EU we'd be forced to enter into a very heavy dependence with the UK to a point of becoming de facto British which is the real aim of those sort.
Not in our lifetime anyway.
That certainly sounds like most Irish eurosceptics I've encountered.
So the Irish eurosceptics are basically West Brits trying to re-brand themselves?
>giving you know who the opportunity to publicly fap off to Europe again
Well done.
In fairness, I think there a couple of more groups than that. Many of the pol crowd are West Brits but a decent chunk of them aren't and still want to leave.
>Many of the pol crowd are West Brits but a decent chunk of them aren't and still want to leave.
But those who aren't West Brits tend to be even less capable of explaining their reasoning for wanting to leave the EU.
Full control of laws, I would imagine, maybe less immigrants. You listen to them?
>You listen to them?
Occasionally.
Sleeps.
They've always been around with the Shane Ross, David Norris, Trinity anglo Irish sorts who have wanted us to rejoin the commonwealth since forever.
The more recent rise seems to stem from working class soccer supporting types who bought into the UKIP lines on immigration since soccer fans in this country are very exposed to UK media. So I suppose it's two different kinds of west brits joining forces.
Makes sense. It is worrying that the latter demographic in particular never seems to stop growing.
Not now that they've seen how much of a problem Brexit is turning out to be but there was definitely consensus against the EU a couple of years ago. They were all so sure that WIlders and Le Pen would win their elections which would bring about the end of the EU.
It's amazing how many eurosceptics in various countries seem to be convinced that the EU is on the verge of collapse. If anything, Brexit has strengthened the bonds within the union.
Rate my blind doggo.
>Brexit has strengthened the bonds within the union
Definitely. It may wind up being the best thing that ever happened to the EU for member confidence if the UK struggles as predicted.
would pet
The Eu means a lack of freedom for all members, why would you wanna be ruled by Brussels bureaucrats rather than the will of your own people?
