>When will China become a superpower?

It is already

This, depending on how you measure it. When they complete their Belt and Road stuff they will basically be THE hegemon in Asia.

Chile is literally only one developed country in Latin America.

>facial recognition tech decades ahead of anything in American companies
>AI that can automatically identify jaywalkers, vandals, street-shitters, and other miscreants through the millions of CCTV cameras all over
>social credit system that keeps the aforementioned miscreants in check
utopia by 2029

I hope all of you die a slow painful death

Are you Chinese?

In some ways, it already is.
Europeans and Americans will keep denying it and point at its current flaws (while ignoring the fact that their own countries were far worse during industrialisation days) because they simply cannot accept that the Chinese system is superior in every way.

>depending on how you measure it
we're past this honestly

He wrote China

I'd say in the 2030s

It took 50 years or so for South Korea to develop (1950s-2000s), I expect the same for China (1980s-2030s)

I love making these threads and watching Japanese squirm.

They have national companies that manufacture tunnel boring machines, trains, etc so they can plan everything easily and cheaply

Not Zambo because I am more than 75% European. I don't really know if there is a name for it.

LOS americano...

Please dont bring up development when your country's infrastructure is stuck in the 20th century

How exactly is a dictatorship a uptopia? Having advanced technology doesn’t necessarily make your country a better place, especially if said technology is only available to the upper crust.

Triggered so many people it was hilarious

Just like the uppity euros claiming the USA would collapse from civil war and racism during the 19th century. All the while they secretly feared that they were watching a new superpower form.

>when?

They already are.

>literally 1984
>utopia

Nice try ching chogn ping pong

Sorry I saw that your “developing country” statement included the 2000’s. I agree now. 2010-present Korea has been developed.

Clearly shows that you did not read the book.

I mean, if you’re willing to sacrifice your humanity for comfort, be my guest.

Not an argument.

Here’s the greatest American political scientist of the 20th century though.

>Contrary to popular Western belief, however, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing for all places and people. Not all dictatorships end in misery, and not everyone wants to live in a democracy. “A bad democracy might be worse than a humane dictatorship,” Pinker points out.

>There is no proof that the desire for freedom and democracy is an innate part of human nature, Ezrow says. As long as quality of life remains high and people are allowed to live their lives as they wish, citizens can be completely happy under a dictatorship. Some even become nostalgic for the authoritarian regime after they lose it. “When I was younger, as a student in graduate school, I just assumed that everyone wanted to be living in a democracy,” Ezrow says. “But if you look at survey research in some countries under authoritarian regimes, people are happy.”

>In other words, ending all dictatorships might not be ideal for everyone. As long as leaders avoid the inherent pitfalls of that mode of governance and take their citizens’ wishes into account, dictatorships are simply a different approach for leading a country, one that values order over individual liberties. As Ezrow puts it: “Some cultures may just prefer security and stability over freedom.”

America's not a small island or cunt like France, of course America's infrastructure would fall behind due cause of our size.

This. And they even struggle building a high speed rail line in the most technologically advanced state

No, you are just voting for dumb republicans sucking the oïl money cock and funding retarded highways instead of rail

>Comparing the 40 deaths in the crash two years ago to the number of Chinese high-speed train trips completed without loss of life over the last several years suggests that the trains have been exceptionally safe overall, said Arnold I. Barnett, a mathematician at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology who is one of the world’s best-known experts on aviation safety statistics.

>“Chinese high-speed rail has so far established a mortality-risk level that equals or exceeds that of the world’s safest airlines,” Mr. Barnett wrote in an e-mail.

>The high-speed rail system’s safety record is particularly good compared with the record of China’s roads, which are 6 to 20 times as deadly per million registered vehicles as in the United States.

>democracy is good cuz I said so!!

Because it is states choosing trump and hilary

in other words stupid

Remember when China was supposed to collapse back in 2015?

Attached: 4ADCC652-A5F0-431B-BCE7-AD3B73402FB9.jpg (1331x707, 142K)

Didn't they change their tune with the "the most powerful man in the word" article like a year or two later?

The state I'm living is literally building a 235 mile rail rn. Americans prefer flying over trains cause it's faster like I said before we're not small like European countries where you can take a train and go to the end of a cunt in less than a day.

lonelyplanet.com/news/2018/02/21/rail-line-connect-miami-and-orlando/

Pls go back into your hole and die Nobita

But statewide it is more efficient to travel by rail. Any trip under 4 hours is more efficient because high speed rail often goes from a downtown to another, much closer than peripherical airports.

Also rail transports freight, not just passengers, and it can move larger quantities of products

their requirement specifications are the thought of the collision premise.
reality is impossible

Their heart is revival of a great Rusted fat belt.
Scrap it again

That prediction might have failed, along with all the other predictions they've been making since 1989, but surely the next prediction will come true.

Any day now...

>were not small like

forbes.com/sites/kenrapoza/2013/04/05/just-how-big-is-china-bigger-than-you-think/amp/
China has a larger land area than us.

>China
>European countries

Attached: 1525569806026.jpg (387x461, 24K)

You keep arguing size restrains our railway ambitions, but China is the world’s largest High Speed Railway country and bigger than us in land area.

Attached: A9BB70B1-8CA5-406B-B042-288F25BF7D94.png (492x349, 8K)

china has over 4x as many people as you do
you can't build profitable high speed railways if you don't have the population density to it. also, china's population heavily resides in the eastern part

Attached: w5I8xXP.jpg (558x840, 188K)

Yeah but the East Coast has a higher pop density than China

Our freight railroads are the best in the world, they aren't the problem. The problem is our shitty passenger rail because of Boomers building cities around cars
