[philosophy] is it worth wearing expensive clothes and shoes to work. on one hand it increases or social value on the other hand they might get stolen or dirty. I work in an office as a trader in a large hedge fund. I have the means to buy a brioni bespoke suit and gucci loafers with a gold rolex but I right now choose not to because they say you should never have a more expensive suit than your boss. it might put a target on me. but clients might respect me more and trust me with more money
Last time I bought more expensive stuff than my boss he came in the next day with even more expensive stuff

a guy with a $20k suit and $40k watch is eating lunch with a guy in a $300 mens warehouse suit and no watch. Who do you think girls will be looking at ?

I don't think you have to have designer suits to look really good necessarily but it does help as tailored suits are built to your figure.
Go into a rolls Royce showroom and see if the person who is selling the cars are dressed cheaply. You don't have to buy certain brands or necessarily flashy stuff but just dress smartly. I work in an engineering company and could literally come in in a tracksuit if I want to but I take pride in my appearance and wear decent clothes. Some people think I'm posh and I've had mates ask why I dress so smartly before but I'd rather dress nice and make an effort than look like everyone else.
The biggest problem is getting nice clothes scuffed like shoes. This is a issue for me because I've got to get on a packed tube in rush hour so they sometimes get stepped on and shit. You could always have your nice shoes in the office and wear something else into work in the morning. Clients who know, will appreciate you making an effort. Keep your hair cut nice and shave as well.

It's fucking simple user. Employ the services of a tailor and wear custom fitted suits. That way you'll look $10,000, while only spending max $1,000.
You don't need a branded suit when the Italian tailor down the street will make you one that looks better for cheaper.
However, don't skimp on your shoes. People always judge you based off of your shoes. I would buy Italian leather if I were you, they look classy and expensive but people don't know enough about them to want to steal them. Alternatively, of course, you can always hire the services of a cobbler to make you your own pair of bespoke shoes.
As for a watch, Warren Buffet wears a fucking Casio. Find your own style and run with it. If you take my advice on style (bespoke everything) just go with one of the smaller, less known, Swiss watchmakers. Or, if you want to splash dough, buy a Patek Phillipe.
You are right that people judge you based on your appearance.
the one that isn’t constantly checking his suit to make sure there isn’t anything on it and the one that isn’t constantly flashing his watch to show how expensive it is. >oldfag

basics first faggot. have a fit body, good hygiene, and fix your teeth. If your fit a plain color shirt will look better than a slob wearing a taylored suit. When you decide to go in on a well fitted suit you will look like a million bucks. You have no idea how much of a difference having straight and white teeth will make.

Like this guy said nice shoes can still be exceptional quality without massive branding all over it. They will only get stolen if they have gucci branding all over them as plebs only seem to know quality items when it's got the brand plastered all over them.
