How do you live your life knowing you were not born Irish?

ended up in a nice town with loads of history. I also prefer living in a culture without an inferiority complex and an independence day, if June 23rd doesn't count.

i been told a lot but my ancestors went from being poor into being successful and helping me out,on the other hand my irish(best women in the world)mother has a masters in nursing and teaches it, she's also helping me trying to live in ireland

It saddens me to see some irish have a so gloomy and terrible image of themselves. I think you are friendly and charm people, with very nice and interesting traditions, one of the best folk music in the world and stunning landscapes. Alcoholism and depression are quite frequent issues in all western civilizations, particularly in cold-climated ones.

To be honest I have been thinking for years in doing my master in Ireland and work and live there, at least for a while, according to the most recent statistic the unemployment is 5,9%, and there a lot of opportunities due to the atractive tax situation and so many big corporations there be thus.
The main problem I heard about is the crazy rent market in Dublin, pretty much the same shit we have here in Madrid and Barcelona

I just visited Dublin a couple of times and I don't find it appalling at all but for the weather. I really liked Galway, I am sure it must be a wonderfull town for do your undergraduate a live for a few years, but majority of work opportunities seems to be in Dublin.

It's not all it's cracked up to be. Being Irish nowadays can apply to anyone. We are turning into the USA where anyone can be Irish. The only criteria for being Irish nowadays is that you have an Irish passport.

Ours is the fate of all white homogeneous nations. Those in power will not stop until whites are a minority in every nation. It doesn't matter that we never had colonies, or that we were the ones colonised. The sheer fact that we are white means we must accept "diversity" and "inclusion". People here try to rationalise it as "Well during the famine, Irish people emigrated to the USA and the UK, so therefore we must accept immigrants and be kind to them, because we weren't treated kindly."

Also the majority of millennials here have a deep seated hatred of anything traditional. They view Irish culture as too influenced by religion and backwards and so look outward to the USA etc. for inspiration. They see that removing facets of Irish culture is a way towards "progress".

Given current trends, us native Irish are set to be below 50% of the population by 2060. Currently we are only 80% of the population and that is falling year after year.

I try to be optimistic but it really is hard to be.
