nah. people use it's privacy but it's a buffer coin.
goes like this.
buyer -> USD -> Monero -> seller
then the seller either converts it to bitcoin, bitcoin cash or straight into USD.
if buyer cant buy monero directly it goes: buyer -> USD -> bitcoin -> online convert to monero -> seller

You just described why it has constant buying pressure and why it's a good investment. Not every XMR bought is immediately sold. Look at how it has tracked vs. bitcoin over the years.
When we hit tail emmissions (0.6 XMR per block) by like 2022 its rise will become even more exaggerated.

Any coin that claims to be able to implement privacy features that has not had privacy by default right out of the gate is going to have an uphill battle dethroning Monero. Not saying it can't happen but every day that passes until then, Monero becomes more entrenched in its position.
