Same. In 2011 on the bitcointalk forums (located on bitcoin.org at the time), the main consensus was peer to peer cash. People used to freak out if any bitcoin service attached any sort of fee to any transaction because the idea was its better than the existing system due to decentralized, so small its essentially no fee to send a tx, non-reversible.
