Daily reminder. Russian engineers invented radio, TV, helicopter and modern information theory.

Why don't they engineer anything these days?

Russian scientists and Engineers during the 19th and 20th century were actually extraordinary in solving problems, they advanced chemistry well ahead of their time and built some technological marvels.
Then a Jew and a Georgian fucked it all up

Nginx - serving this weeb site and 90% of all the Internet's nowadays, is written by Igor Sysoev, Russian engineer.

Why can't they capitalize it? I know Russia is full of smart people, but why can't they turn it into profit

>russians build 3000 km of autobahn in 2 years..
>russians build 3 different types of rockets

>llon Mask finished the hyperloop..

Corruption, Oligarchs, Tax policies

> software 'engineer' you mean
Im a software engineer an we shouldn't unironically be called that
But Russian engineers and scientists are awesome
And these guys too Building a tower like that is hard, even when you're sober, I'd take a picture of it to if I built one

>Corruption, Oligarchs, Tax policies

you sure you are talking about russia and not sweden?

Attached: Solliden KFAM Anna-Lena Ahlström kungahuset.se.jpg (718x567, 464K)

Sweden is pretty much the easiest country for start ups. However there's hardly any tech companies in Russia. It's not the lack of skill

>However there's hardly any tech companies in Russia
Whoawhoa.
Yandex? Majlru? Kaspersky? Acronis? Parallels? EPAM? Luxsoft?

I know only Kaspersky and Yandex. And Yandex is only a Russian thing. Yet doesn't really impress me considering the talent and population
t. not it guy

Never heard about Telegram? Vkontakte?

Russian engineer speeding up Netflix github.com/glebius

>Sweden is pretty much the easiest country for start ups.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA!!

>However there's hardly any tech companies in Russia.

sweet jesus. mai finish proxy nigga.. russia is the first place in this world when it comes to best conditions to start own start up.

rbth.com/special-top-50-russian-start-ups

(when russians are parking their cars on mobile and GPS meanwhile in EU you has to walk and buy a fucking ticket and then walk back..)

EverNote is Russian engineering and entrepreneurship too.

russia is a shithole end of story

> russians build 3000 km of autobahn in 2 years..

What? Where? From here, it looks more like 2 km in 3000 years, and the first half has already been broken beyond repair because everyone who was responsible for building it naturally palmed some of the money.

Some of the money is OK, though, there are stories in which all of the money disappear without a trace.

I know, but my point was that Russians don't seem not to know how to turn it to money. There could easily be a "Russian silicon valley"
Why do you never heard of these? They always move abroad like Yandex which operates in the Netherlands due to bureaucracy and corruption

So what? California was pretty much a shithole the early days of Valley.
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/HP_Garage

fucking GPS ship in Nokia phones, which can work on 5 different GPS systems worldwide is russian invention.

FUCKING GORILLA GLASS IS RUSSIAN INVENTION!!

Attached: enemy-of-europe4.jpg (384x656, 61K)

Russians know how to turn it to the money. Abroad.

> russia is the first place in this world when it comes to best conditions to start own start up.*

*that suddenly ceases to be your own in case of success

Read the fine print, dummy.

>Why do you never heard of these?

because you are living in a xenophobic backward shithole where everyone shits himself as soon he hears or thinks the word "russian". because you are an anti-russian propagandashitbag. because "MUHHSANCTIONS!"

All Intel compilers technologies - nnovgorod
Yandex is not operate in Netherlands, only registered there. Why don't you ask about Google, Facebook and apple doing the same in Ireland? Are they Irelandian companies then?

Volga german you're drunk. If were so anti-russian why are we buying a nuclear plant from Russia and building ice breakers for them despite muh sanctions?

russian strong baikal processor will crush puny ryzen and i7

Dr web, Abby, ~badoo

You are totally right my friend. We suck in capitalism.

>Volga german you're drunk.

its morning my dear proxi nigga. volga germans dont drink this early. they are not like finish..

Fat guy in junk clothes is unable to abduct you from the middle of the city, beat you, and tie to a tree in the middle of the forest, telling which names should appear on the management board list of your company.

sigh.. they drilled the holes in bottles and connected by a cord.. the most complicated here was to let it stay

Attached: 01eab332e9b0658193ba8478451c0a51.jpg (640x360, 29K)

Nope. While capitalism was intact, everything gone smooth. Revert to the state capitalism is what crushed everything.

> Dr. Web
You really got me with that joke.

As you can see from the age, size, and business of the companies mentioned, RIDF can't even grasp what that “startup” thing is expected to be.

Stop being so nonconformistic, you suck

Estonia is good at capitalism despite communism

Thanks to EU

No due its free market, loose regulations, taxes and laws. Many ex commie eu-countries still are extremely bureaucratic and corrupted

would suck off top left guy

Being of eesti, hk or singapore size is helpful. And support from all the west of course.

Huh?

Attached: mmm-nigeria.jpg (800x500, 87K)

I would say that if you are from start up you can don't give a fuck about regulations, taxes or even registration. This all matter only when you become larger.

Many start ups rather move to estonia than stay here. "upper class" people like in Estonia are mostly finnish it guys

So what we knows here. Russia is shit, but it can be much better. As always.

>finnish it guys
Does they even exist? Where is all that Finnish software? Anything?

Its like 25% of our GDP they're usually small companies less than 20 employees
I hope it gets better. Like I said you have the talent

>The Newton used the CalliGrapher word-based handwriting recognition engine developed by ParaGraph International Inc, led by former Soviet scientist

Nginx was just one guy and everybody knows and uses it.
Why all those small Finnish shops never created something great?
What all of them doing, accounting java enterprise class fabrics?

Because there's only 5mln Finnish people. Statistically we must create x30 more software than they are. Do we? Probably not.

again.. how different is that from other parts of the world?

Supercell (yes those who make moblie games) Is worth 5 billion dollars alone. You need to know capitalism, good coding isn't enough. That's why silicon valley and americans dominate IT industry, not because their products are great

>Estonia is good at capitalism
More like good at living off EU.
That's what they and EUSSR wants you to believe. Meanwhile, in real life.

What are you talking about?

I'm assuming you're the Russian guy with the German flag posting about how great Russia is ITT
So I'll ask you this;
If Russia is so great, why don't you live there?

Cringe. We had large influence in theoretical science, especially in physics. So go learn it.

This thread is about engineers though. Selling mobile junk is not that.
I asked you what great software Finnish engineers ever created, not about how much money they earned selling trash.

I knew that Russian are smart but I didn't know they are this smart

But that's what matter these days, money. That's why Russian IT sectory is like that.
And Finnish engingeers. Well there Linus Torvalds, dunno if he counts. Nokia is building 5g etc

You doing great, don't listen him.

So Linus and that's it, OK.
Not that impressive for all that thousands of 'great Finnish engineers.'

Attached: 176683_1420749163_0.jpg (355x222, 24K)

>'great Finnish engineers.'
Who said that?

Cool, I thought they only bought these from Germany recently. Anyway, icebreakers are not affected by sanctions.
>I'm assuming you're the Russian guy with the German flag posting about how great Russia is ITT
You're assuming wrong, I'm another poster.
>If Russia is so great, why don't you live there?
If you have got nothing to answer my actual point, why posting at all?

Attached: mpsv06 217 beringov proliv & 218 murman (2).jpg (2800x2000, 3.42M)

Neither are nuclear power plants which should be even a bigger problem. These sanctions are a joke anyway. Why make a big deal out of them. It's just a buzzword for people who don't know what they're about.

yeah your source clearly shows he was three year late to be called the inventor of the helicopter...

Wtf? How much of their budget is EU gibs?

Attached: 1526471113467.jpg (1260x836, 136K)

Lithuania gets more gibs than our military budget which is 1.7% of our GDP can't image how much its in Lithuanian GDP
Wow just wow

Lithuanian GDP is 12 bln so 2bln is 1/6th aka bit less than 20%

if only we would get that much money. We have a 1% budget deficit so they can get 20% for free. wtf i hate eu now
I knew they get a lot of gibs, but didnt think that much in the size of their economy

Let them reach your level of gdp per capita then they will pay more and you will find some new eastern shithole to feed

wut

Attached: Capture.png (637x404, 26K)

nginx is a good HTTP implementation of the reactor pattern which has American origins.

Oops, my bad, googled the wrong thing. So 4%

That's still a lot they don't have to take denbts and cut services since EU gibs

Isn't gibs policy of the EU is planned to work untill 2020 when it will be revisioned?

It will take more toll on our taxes if brexit happens. Someone has to pay UKs part.

I mean may be in 2020 Poland, Czech, Slovenia and may be Estonia will be forced to pay more than they get

Oh and what about C language origin?

That will great. I don't know why they need the money anymore. Their roads are newer and in better condition than ours for example.

Who really needs money is Bulgaria and Romania, and I guess Serbia soon enough

Does serbia even want to join eu? Aren't they more your friends? There's enough poor countries, why does eu need to expand more

Nice thread

>why does eu need to expand more
Globalism
