Learning resources:
First and foremost check the Jow Forums Wiki. (feel free to contribuite

4chanint.wikia.com/wiki/The_Official_Jow Forums_How_to_Learn_A_Foreign_Language_Guide_Wiki

Check pastebin.com/ACEmVqua for plenty of language resources as well as some nice image guides.

/Lang/ is currently short on those image guides, so if you can pitch in to help create one for a given language, don't hesitate to do so!

Torrents with more resources than you'll ever need for 30 plus languages:

Google Drive folder with books for all kinds of languages:

don't go dying on me /lang/

we at least deserve a weekend thread!

Today is wedding day

Decided to try Duolingo to actually learn some Japanese, went through the preliminary test.
I have no idea what this thing actually means.

You learned 2 subjects

How can we make the world speak Proto Indo European again?

Or, your Japanese is good enough that you get to skip 2 of the 100 lessons

Romanian.

Getting lots of hate when I mention it so I've stopped doing that.

>Japanese is good enough that you get to skip 2 of the 100 lessons
Well, I'm not sure if that's a compliment or an insult.
Whatever, the whole thing is actually pretty fun. I'll stick with it.

Go forth and learn, weeaboo Mikhail!

Why do you get hate?

Why are you doing that etc?

You're forgetting this is a redditors' board. They'd say that about any language other than English (which according to them is only spoken by fatass morons, but it's the only language worth even noticing to them).

This being a reddit board is precisely why these threads stopped, by the way.

>Samoan
>It's hard because there are few resources and literally no speakers of the language where I live

Jesus fuck, I feel old.

My friends and family shit on me for learning Polish and tell me to learn a """"useful"""" language instead. Don't worry about it, eventually you'll get over it

Anyone got some advice on how to avoid Kweebs?

Learning Korean for a while now. It's an interesting language, Koreans are helpful on questions and nice to hang out with even.

But wow, fuck Kweebs. Annoying, too old children begging for translation of some nonsense yet another replaceable "star" sperged out this time. Just followed by the question "Who's your favourite of xxx?". And if you try to explain to them that kpop and kdramas are not your desire, they look at you like they got by a rock.

Inb4; That happened; Even where?
Too many times; language course, local bars, foreign relationships meet ups

I'm curious, why are you learning Samoan?

Hello, how and where do I learn German grammar?

Somebody has tried to learn chinese to appropriate speaking level?

Nowhere really. Been trying to figure it out for a lifetime and wasn't successful so far.

What kind of budget do you have?

No Russian who types in English the

10 yuros or something. So far I haven't spent a cent.

See if you can find a decent coursebook/ grammar book for that price (or pirate one) and use your usual meme vocabulary apps. That should get you far enough

I have plenty of coursebooks downloaded, but there's no way to find out the answers for the excersizes, so I lost interest. I guess I'll give it another try.

I don't have a link to a torrent I found but see if you can find a PDF of Deutsch Heute to torrent. You need structured learning for that sort of thing and books are good enough

Oh, didn't read I'm going to get shit on for this, but use Google translate to check work as long as you're using full sentences so it has context to work with
