My business puts me in constant contact with the upper middle class. The kind that have designer yoga pants, a second hand Bentley or Land Rover, and kitchens that are larger than some apartments.
I notice they don't really...do anything. They're just not tied to a schedule, take their time, have days off all the time. All they "do" is work out and drink heavily.
What is their source of income??
I figure it's money markets, stocks, startup investments etc but I want to know how to have that kind of revenue.
They live at the edge of their means, I could be rather comfy with that kind of money because I tend to save it up.
I have $12,000 I've put away and have no allocation in mind. How do I get comfy?
they are constantly reaping dividends from whatever their assets are in. real estate, stock market, businesses they own. They don't do anything because they don't have to.
Lucas Rivera
I know I don't have a lot to throw out into the game, but with $12-20k what can I do?
Cameron Lee
and to follow up, most successful people in this country inherit some kind of wealth to begin with. some of these people you meet probably have never or will never do anything worthwhile for the market but will perpetually be rich, passing shit on to the next generation.
honestly, hope for the best in crypto. find the oil field before vehicles are invented. stock market gains are a few percent annually and that is jack shit with your savings.
Kevin Robinson
Most of these people breed shrimps. Yeah, I knows it seems silly but did you know if you do it well you could sell each for $10? All you gotta do is have a nice tank, feed them some food and let them do their thing. Soon you will have a big colony of shrimps, like 100+ shrimps.
Jose Baker
A mix of daddy's money, credit card debt, and your confirmation bias. Stop worrying about what others have, and you'll enjoy life more.
Bentley Allen
this shrimp are a one time expense that pays you endlessly

Last year I got out of welding and into shrimp breeding. I was pulling in about $300K/year welding, but right now I'm on track to hit $500K this year with shrimp.
Isaiah Kelly
100+ shrimps?!? That's like....a while $1000!!!!
Hudson Davis
100*10 = rich
Asher James
yeah but if more people did this wouldn’t the shrimp price plummet? seems like a risky investment
Isaiah Thompson
Credit and about $300k a year income does that for you.
Grayson Collins
thanks just bought 100k
Hudson Johnson
this is real lmao. Reading up on it now
Luis Barnes
how? what was your initial investment for the shrimp? where do you sell them? how do i into shrimp
Sebastian Allen
This post reeks of your own self-pity.
Dylan Cooper
SHHHHH... we're not supposed to let the lower class know about the shrimps.
Joseph Gutierrez
Yes. The shrimp market is way over bought. You need to get in on the next hot market early. Personally I've had a lot of success breeding snails. Plus you get dividends from the caviar they make.
Christopher Peterson
to be fair, many people are getting into the shrimp business now that crypto is over. there's a window to get in, maybe the next 2 years or so, but it's closing fast. make your profits and get out
Logan Thompson
thats per tank bro, you can set up around 100 tanks in a small space since you can stack them on racks and such
Thomas Hernandez
Upper middle class is nothing. It's basically like middle class but bigger stuff. 1 to 5 million net worth. My dad works in the government his enitre like to get that.
What's better is upper class. Where you own multiple businesses and fly in personal planes. That's the life I want.
Anthony Taylor
source of income is capital gains from stocks and rentals mostly. not salaries. 85% american stock market is owned by 10% of richest households
It's family money. My friend is a trust fund baby and lives the life you describe. Most self-made rich people usually keep working their asses off.
Nathaniel Roberts
>My business puts me in constant contact with the upper middle class. Have you ever decided to have a conversation with them? Do you know that when you speak to people, they tell you things?
Colton Price
I breed shrimp for sexual fetishes. Also tasted myself that kink and I must say it is good.

Hey OP, I was born into one of these families.
My dad is a sports radio and tv host, my mum owns a PR firm, and my Stepfather does private contracting for the military after serving as a green beret for several years. All three of them have a few things in common: >they all have rental properties >they are all significantly invested, with both time and money, into their investments >they take significant risks >Only one of them(my mum, who interestingly earns the least) went to university >each have extremely stringent money habits, only allocating "splurge" money to one or two hobbies(cars for my dad and stepfather, travel for my mum) >they taught me from a VERY young age how to manage and make money >all three are entirely selfmade - my mum is an immigrant from Rhodesia, my stepfather worked his ass off in the military, my dad started as an intern at a local news station) >THEY AVOID BAD DEBT(credit cards, student debt, etc) AT ALL COSTS and only use manageable debt to build credit
I know this all sounds like a larp but the whole point of long ass blog post is that the most important thing to do is watch your money like a fucking hawk. Finances are one of the most important things in our lives, and they should be treated as such.
I'm only 19 but I am now making enough with my own business to fund my university schooling(with significant help from the GI bill and a few scholarships, thank god), and spend my time running aforementioned business and shipping MVP software.
WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SHRIMP MEME? IS IT ACTUALLY PROFITABLE? CAN I RUN IT FROM MY DORM?
Jayden Baker
>I'm only 19 but I am now making enough with my own business to fund my university schooling Why? That's like saying "I'm 6'3, 190lbs of muscle, no body fat, and I'm about to go learn how to diet and exercise". If you're earning enough already, what will school teach you?
Chase Jenkins
Reminds me of the user who was going to start an egg business and buy 150 hens and 150 roosters lmao

I already tried getting hired by people with my resume, which, aside from what I do, isn't long.
I've also minimized costs as best as possible by attending a CC right next to a top state school that I already got accepted to, living way under my means and saving as much as possible.
Trust me, I've thought this out.
Parker Miller
Where do I get splained how rental ownership works?
My dad owns a company and works his ass off, my mom made practically enough to get by with one rental years ago but I think she doesn't really know what she's doing so I want good advice.
What's a good amount to invest in a property?
John Perry
Could you explain this meme to me, user? There's absolutely no way raising shrimp has the same demand and functionality as blockchain tech, but please explain. I'm somewhat intrigued
Lucas King
Everyone here is wrong
They are either working their asses off running a business or high level management, have already worked their asses off and are reaping the rewards and will likely have to do so again periodically, or they're heavily in debt
The other class are temporarily embarrassed millionaires working low level high paying jobs, and I dont consider them upper middle class because they're mostly man children
Nicholas Rodriguez
It's not, people barely ever get inheritance much less a large class of people getting an abundant inheritance
What is more likely is that the plebs of the world see parents having money and kids having money, and make an unga bunga conclusion.
In reality either the family is intelligent and that leads to higher income, or the family is well connected, getting their progeny easier access to better jobs, or both.

Wait is it real? I thought everyone was just meming about shrimping so I was just meming along with them.
Luke Evans
I have no idea. I'm pretty sure it's a meme aswell lol

DESU yoga pants are maybe $200, a second hand bentley can be as low as $1,000 per month, and a nice kitchen in a rental can be had, depending on state, for $2,500 per month.
So you're basically interacting with people who earn enough to fund a lifestyle at or around $70,000 before tax.
$42,000 for rent and car loan/lease, + expenses for yoga pants, yoga, smoothies, etc.
So that could be a married couple both earning $35,000 as school teachers with the husband wearing walmart while his wife wears gucci.
Joshua Lee
unironically buy LINK. a lot of those people got rich during bubbles. smart contract bubble has its just getting started. I know someone shilled ethereum on here when i was looking to leave the 9-5 lifestyle and get something to invest in long term and it helped me out. just helped you and any fellow user with this so you can get your feet wet and start living life the real way it was supposed to be lived.
Wyatt Smith
lol first it was $12k now its $12-20k

Does your real dad feel cucked that your mom is getting railed by a greenie beanie's weenie?
You must be very poor to be impressed by that, post your Ether wallet and I'll give you an Ether dude. Anything to help the poor.

Christian Long
That doesn’t answer his question. If your businesses are already bringing in >$100k a year, why go to school to get hired by someone else to make $150k a year? Could easily just double the size of your businesses instead
Thomas Gutierrez
Did he send it to you? 12 k is rich to me lucky.
Carson Rogers
It's usually some kind of fixed income trust fund. In fact you be surprised by how many corner stores and such in and around cities are basically just unprofitable hobbies for children/wives of rich people given trust funds.
Alexander Taylor
>upper middle class
This doesn't really exist as a class. If you aren't working and you are living a lifestyle, you are wealthy.
If you are working, but living a lifestyle above your current means, you are either well-educated and on track to be upper class, or, larping and destined to be poor and lower class.
If you aren't working and are living a good lifestyle, you are already upper class. You are liking from a wealthy family and you know you have money coming your way.
Alexander Hill
I'm not doing anything NEAR 100k. Last year was my best ever and I did 65k before taxes. It's a hell of a lot more than any other college kid but still certainly not "rich" by any stretch of the imagination. This year I hope to do 70k or 75k.
Bentley Jenkins

You could waste your life with all that bs but I have one word for you user and that word is 'Shrimps' pic related a shrimp made of gold
It's called having rich parents. If you don't have them these days you're fucked. The only people i went to high school with that are actually getting married, buying homes, etc all had rich parents.
You can buy 5-6 pounds of weed and start flipping it if you know the right people. If not you can piss it all away on crypto or out it in the stock market for 4-6% gains. You could use it as a down payment on a 4 apartment unit building and rent out those rooms. You have a few options.

>IT'S NOT HOW MUCH YOU MAKE, BUT HOW MUCH YOU SAVE No user, it's how much you invest.
If you can see the money, you WILL spend it. Whenever I make money that I don't need at that VERY moment, I will put it somewhere I can't easily get to it.
And no she hasn't. She puts on a good facade for PR but is one of the most conservative people I know.
WHY THE FLYING FUCK ARE YOU ASSHOLES GIVING THE SHRIMP SECRET AWAY. I LURKED THIS BOARD FOR YEARS TO FIGURE IT OUT WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU GIVING IT AWAY. NEXT IT WILL BE THE FUCKING NORMIES AND THE MARKET WILL BE WORTH FUCK ALL. NEVER MENTION THE SHRIMP AGAIN.
Jordan Bennett
You can actually amke decent money by growing aquarium shrimp. You don't really ahve to feed them and they breed prodigously. I thought about doing it about a year ago but by that time it was obvious shrimp was in a bubble. I decide to do grow algae instead and the bubble has just started forming. I honestly think that the algae market will be 10x larger than the Neocaridina davidi market.
>2018 >not developing and owning seed patents for martian agriculture
it's like you want to be poor
Austin White
Businesses that they've put on autopilot. The people you meet are likely 2nd generation rich that never had to plan and make a deal just reaping what their daddy and mommy made and living off trust income (market investments and dividends)
If you mean people who make like 200k then most of them just have a decent education and a decent job? There’s not really any secret to that.
Evan Hernandez
Cash out refinances is how.
Levi Collins
you americans need to stop with the "upper middle class". the people OP describes are obviously upper class.
here: WORKING CLASS = poor MIDDLE CLASS = wageslaves UPPER CLASS = rich fucks
see? simple.
Daniel Torres
Shrimp business is still a thing, but you need yo follow demand. I figured out the strongest/biggest shrimp were in demand. So after some artificial selection i had the most fit shrimp. Made 1kk last year
Ryder Morris
Except upper-middle class is a thing. A firefighter making 55k a year and an MBA making 150k are not in the same socioeconomic group.
Jesus fucking christ, dude enough with the Link memes.
Luke Adams
Well I guess I can get into rentals. Problem is it has taken me almost a year to put up $12k unallocated except for as capital or some other investment.
How to property with such small capital?
Evan Parker
Yes. Yesterday there was a shrimp breeding thread. Shortly after the thread was posted a bunch of FUD posters appeared.
Evan Clark
>firefighter
I actually missed this firefighters, policemen, and other government union stooges would legitimately count as upper middle-class. They are usually clearing around $200k with benefits and it's hard to move up or down. They are permanent upper middle classers.
MBAs can be anything. It's generally a retarded degree to get unless you are at a top 10 school that will give you a network of smart/wealthy people.
Landon Torres
>firefighters >$200k

Look at any big city and anyone achieving any rank is making that. It's all public record. Just look up a big city and you can query how much people make. They are also retiring around 50 with a pension. Governments are completely inefficient and non-sustainable.
