Thats whats great about living in the US is the government already has all my information

i need my videogames

Linux is American too. That torvalds guy moved to California 10 years ago and codes on a Macbook

I am though

linus doesn't write the kernel alone, you know
lots of distros aren't american at all - canonical is from UK for example
the code is available to audit so there's no chance of spying

This isn't even riced. This is the same setup I've used for 7 years.

>government
Corporation is not government. And the amount of information windows collects has been overblown by literal fake news disproved by a fucking Linux user, of all people.
Although notion that Jow Forums retards downloaded actual viruses marketed as “anti spyware community patches” that was guaranteed to stop micro$oft spying is amusingly ironic for sure.

Why not XP though.

Fuck windows but I need it for muh bideo gaymes

Hearbleed bug was open source too you know. Just because some anime bingewatchers can look into the millions of lines of code doesnt make it safe

It's not one guy writing something. This is not how it works these days. It is and was a european project but got also further developed by AT&T and Bell and other companies inflicted, also by Google nowadays.

gpu passthrough m8

wine's getting really good nowadays too, it actually runs some shit better than it would run natively in windows

no games

Tried using on my linux on my laptop solely to watch anime but the video quality wasn't good enough, seemed to be a problem with the display drivers.

do i need a second GPU for passthrough?

The anime/OS nerds will tell you to fix it yourself by googling shit for days to get it to work at half the Windows performance

Yes

>Linux is American too.
I'll bite. Linux is not American nor Finnish nor whatever. It belongs to the world and anyone can contribute to it due to its open-source nature.

>And the amount of information windows collects has been overblown by literal fake news.
Have you read Windows 10 privacy pages on the microsoft website ? The cuckoldery isn't even hidden.

I really did try to get it working, even used different distros, ended up back on windows, took me minutes to get it set up how I wanted.

I know this quote is out of context, but fuck if it doesn't apply now. Of course Windows is easy to setup, they have a crack team of tens of thousands of people working on it for decades, all on a payroll.

Found the fag.

As much as I like linux-based OSes (I do sysadmin for a living), GPU passthough is bogus on most consumer motherboards (you need IOMMU and it's usually not properly implemented).

Wine is a hack, sometimes it works, sometime it doesn't.

Ubuntu usually works very well and do not need the user to be technical.

Linux is a kernel, the core of the system. Its code is fully open and auditable. The software that comes with (a distribution) may contain malware/spyware though. Ubuntu used to have a nice Amazon addon which would send your search imput to their servers.

Beware of all the CIA niggers out there, my fellow white man.

not necessarily, but for most intents and purposes, yes. don't forget you can use your cpu's igpu for your host OS, or you could just buy a super cheap gpu for 20 bucks or whatever

doesn't matter if you're running it in a VM, although stallman won't be very happy with you

Grow the fuck up

>BIOS with internet access
You are tracked on a hardware level anyway. The OS doesn't matter.

It's just a shitty clone of an American operating system. Euros need to stop jerking themselves off.

>implying your Intel or AMD CPU isn't already compromised

Fugg so mutts know that i like gay furry porn :DDD

which distro would you recommend for GPU passthrough? running Debian testing right now, is that ok or should I use something more bleeding edge like arch?

>arch
>breaks on dist update

the cycle is thus:

win-nigger--ubuntu----debian----arch-----gentoo---then realize it's all worthless, waste of time and go back to windows

>GPU passthough is bogus on most consumer motherboards (you need IOMMU and it's usually not properly implemented)
?

gpu passthrough seems to work just fine with most modern consumer motherboards that i've seen. i think things were a little fucky with ryzen for a while but i think that's all been resolved.

and yeah wine is niggardly, but it's come a long way this past year or two, what with gallium 9, DXVK, etc.

youtube.com/watch?v=BETszhtiiOI

Arch hasn't broken on update for years now. You gotta get new memes.

>he does not use french BIOS or CPU like Kalray or from STMicroelectronics

These newfags

Attached: index.jpg (106x90, 4K)

Agreed. This shit is literally evil and runs silently on top of your existing OS. Open-source CPU design when ?

Before talking about distro, could you describe your hardware (CPU and MB). You need IOMMU virtualization (AMD-Vi or Intel VT-d), which isn't available on all CPUs.

no u

Ubuntu didn't work either, image was very jaggy.

I use the cracked version of it without any sky tools.

>nothing proves that Linux doesn't have a CIA backdoor

Attached: 1418056493881.png (550x535, 198K)

mb is rather compatible, it has the option
i don't know about how well it support iommu
CPU is rather bad though, i5-4430
might upgrade soon

>Open-source CPU design when?
risc-v is our messiah

even that the code is fully audited and licensed under GPL v2?

Who are you quoting?

I've seen a few MBs on which IOMMU groups were fucked up. Passing through your GPU may also end up passing other devices to your VMs.
It may have been corrected by BIOS patches though.

Curious. What is(are) the graphics chip(s) on that laptop ? Intel graphics usually works great ootb. If that laptop is running an nvidia chip, you may need to install the NVIDIA proprietary drivers. Ubuntu has the ability to detect that situation and has a nice one-click tool for that.

>>he does not use the french (EU now) OS 100% windows/linux/android free with a new source code 100% european
which one is this?

i would, but i couldn'tmake the sound work in ubuntu.

so here i am, back in windows.
