It's free (and it's awful, obviously), but when it comes to some shit like gastroscopy or operations on your leg/hand/whatever you need to be lucky to get a quota on them from a therapist. Otherwise - pay. Considering that we have shittons of babushkas, the chance of getting them is pretty low.

The tip in the story was just part of the meme, we don't tip dentists, still our dental care is the biggest bullshit ever. The government basically treats our teeth like third-party actors not technically part of our bodies and therefore separate from healthcare, it's like getting a taste of being american just for looking at your teeth.
Also 57$ is very low to be Sweden, last time I paid 80$ for fifteen minutes.

Sage. In Norway, dental care in particular is heavily non-subsidized by the state compared to all other medical branches, which leads to dental care being much more expensive than pretty much anything else.
