hope repair service contacts police and they send you to asylum

This happened to me when I was 12 and didn't know how to clean my pc case so I asked my uncle to do it...

we don't look for stuff and don't care about what we find, most of the time we have much worse on our own drives

>work at a pc repair center
>do memory recovery

the shit people keep on their hard-disks... I've seen things you anons wouldn't believe...

This happened to an autistic twelve year old a few years ago, it made the grape vine around the city.

Like?

How hard is it to recover things from formated drives?

How often did you have to inform the police on your findings?

old lady with like 200gbs of very low quality photos of her cat, thousands and thousands of blurry 480p pics
every kind of the most vile porn in existence, scat, furry scat, midget incest furry scat ... you name it
most illegal thing I found was photos of homegrown marijuana, but I smoke myself and I don't give a shit
never found heavy shit like cp

most people just put things in the bin and half of them empty it
not even mentioning the browsing histories

ever found pictures of frozen pasta noodles?

Computer technician here. If it's only to fix the computer and not to recover any data, we don't look for shit, as said by Even if we wanted to, we don't have the time to do such things.

Very easy. Formating drives alone does nothing to the actual data. It's like ripping the index pages of a book. Sure you can't find specific data by looking at the index anymore but you can read the book anyways.

How do you completely remove your data from the hard disk? Assuming you want to sell your hard disk.

I had to give my pc to the IT guy for memory recovery...

The pc was full of feet pics

I so much hope he didn't snoop in my folders...

>How do you completely remove your data from the hard disk?
apply big magnet to it then toss it in the fire
best way to erase a disk is to get rid of it
but even then, if you've used the internet there will be trail of information that can be traced

The easiest way is just to take a very big file (like a 30 GB Blu-ray rip) and copy it over and over until the entire drive is filled. Any file will do, actually, but it is easier to use very big files. Then format it and done. If anyone looks after they could only recover that Blu-ray.

The are software utilities out there but they do basically the same thing.

Create a linux livecd, boot from it and run dd if=/dev/random of=/dev/sda

Data from disks isn't actually gone, even if you delete it and free up space. Say image.png is stored in sector 83 of your hard disk. You delete that image and free up that space. The image IS still there, but you've indicated your disk that now it may use sector 83 to store up new data.
Once new data overwrites on sector 83, image.png is gone for good.

That's why there are tools that write over all empty bytes on a hard disk to overwrite everything that is stored there, even if it was deleted before. Like a wipe of sorts.

install gentoo

he did

If I was him, I'd always be snooping at peoples' files. I used to work at a doctors office and enjoyed looking at peoples medical files. I don't judge anyone but it's just interesting.

if you were him you would have lost interest long ago

Depends on the person who gave me the computer.

Honestly I'd probably make a "can I judge what people are into by their appearance" kind of game. Seeing if there is any correlation between peoples' demographics and hentai lovers, or foot fetishists, etc

Woah thanks a bunch. Don't know that you can do this workaround.

>tfw the one the receptionists at my doctor's clinic went to my school
i have to deal with her everytime i go there, wouldn't be surprised if she's seen my autism/depression/anxiety diagnosis as well as the general day to day notes that the doctor makes. i feel ashamed everytime i have to talk to her.

are the files easily viewable? because at this clinic at least, the doctor's have to request access to the files electronically at each appointment, they can't just look at them whenever.

>send PC to get repaired
>it's full of weeb games and vydia

Maybe hes into it and you can have gay furry sex?

>mfw found a pc with Unteralterbach and many other heinous cartoon porn "games"

that was a tough one, at least I got to know Free Cities, a nice little game worth a fap once in a while

I realise you just said you have anxiety, but I really wouldn't worry about her judging you, you should never be ashamed of medical conditions you have (unless you purposefully gave yourself AIDS or something). It's not like the receptionists gossip about peoples' conditions or anything, it's just interesting to look at, I have no idea if other receptionists do the same thing. I had to sign a legal document relating to never disclosing/talking about peoples' medical history to anyone.

Only a few days into the job I immediately became extremely non-judgemental about peoples' medical history, because it's not peoples' fault what problems they have 99% of the time. And as for the files being easily viewable, depends on the system they use, every practice will be different. I also spent more time looking at the files than other receptionists, coz part of my job was to scan in files and letters so all medical files were electronic.

So I guess my point is, don't worry about her m8, only the biggest cunts would judge you for your conditions, so I SINCERELY don't think she does, and if she does, she's a huge cunt so fuck her opinion anyway.

shit, even mentioning that game used to get the thread nuked a few years back

I work for 1 month in a repair shot (could not take it anymore. too boring).
People do look at your files. Some even copy it.

Why are you ashamed of your preferences?
