In all seriousness, though, this is perhaps the most famous Swedish sculpture: "Non-Violence", by Reuterswärd.

It's very recognizable outside the UN headquarters.

>Mukhina's most celebrated work by far is the giant monument Worker and Kolkhoz Woman, which was the centerpiece of the Soviet pavilion at the 1937 International Exhibition in Paris.[2] It was the world's first welded sculpture.

>The Motherland Calls (Russian: Poдинa-мaть зoвёт!, tr. Rodina-mat' zavyot!, lit. Homeland-Mother Is Calling!) is the compositional center of the monument-ensemble "Heroes of the Battle of Stalingrad" on Mamayev Kurgan in Volgograd. It is one of the tallest statues in the world and the tallest statue in Russia and Europe.

Goddammit lads

Some guy here made an exact copy of an Athena statue based on ancient descriptions that once stood in the Parthenon. It’s the tallest indoor statue in the western world

That's part of greater sculpture complex.

Ominous, I like it

lol what is she doing there? why would a woman go somewhere like that and just do that pose? stupid if you ask me

The colors you see on the recreations are not how the statues actually looked, they're just basic approximations that scientists have found by testing the marble. The original painted statues probably looked something like pic related.

Vulcan, in Birmingham, Alabama

World’s largest pure iron statue. It weighs 120,000 pounds (54,431 kg).

Birmingham is the only place on Earth where large deposits of the three raw materials needed to make iron—coal (for conversion into coke), iron ore, and limestone—exist close together.

this one is cool

Wow really made me think.....

Grey and blue are in the same spectrum of eye color, and I can see how languages of yore have used it interchangeably. Especially before names for all specific colors existed.
