Actually no. The UAE occupied it temporarily, but it has since been returned to the Hadi-government (the internationally recognized government of Yemen, currently busy with the civil war). Saudi Arabia brokered an agreement between the UAE and Yemen whereby Socotra was returned to Yemeni civilian administration and the UAE received military access to the island.
