Was looking at other cities and some of the rural hubs for cheap large land lots (1000m2+) but the info on them is so sparse IDK if it's some rural shithole with a major drug and theft problem or a nice little village where everyone's kind. I was in exactly the same situation in my first year (26 now) and ended up as part of a good group of lads who are still great friends
Infiltrating already established friendship groups is hard, terrifying, and awkward af. At first people will give you weird looks, and you'll be that weird kid on the periphery but stick at it and eventually you'll be part of the group.
First start by just being around. Go into your communal kitchen when others are in there and be present with the small talk
Hang out during pre drinks
Pick a sympathetic member of the group and make friends with them first
It was so horrendously awkward for me at first but it was normal within 2 weeks or so

you possibly could make a friend or two if you try very hard and youre generally likeable but from my experience if you miss the first month or two in a new social settings you are going to stay outside any social group until you switch to a completely different place
this is why it's always extremely important when you first start going to a new school find a new workplace etc to be very friendly for the first week, heck even the first day is vitally important. normies do NOT like the quiet types by large

Just gave up immediately and sank into alcoholism and depression which has dogged me ever since
Going to go camping on my own this weekend. Will take my dog with me, a knife, a lighter, a tent, a sleeping bag and my phone just in case, that's it. Wonder if I'll enjoy the beauty of nature like the internet told me or if I'll get ridiculously bored and/or incapable of spending time in my own mind because I'm a fragile freak. Hoping catching and cooking my own meals will be enough to keep my mind busy, I'm capable of it but I'm shit at it so it might take a while to catch a couple rabbits (one for me, one for the dog).
