What do you think America will be like after the midterms give Democrats more control?

I think we’ll at least get some decent infrastructure projects.

I don’t know. From our perspective the USA seems more fractured nowadays than a union of 27 different states.
How is this even possible?

>vote in Trump to change the direction of the country
>you'll be in the exact same position as before only much worse of diplomatically

Attached: y65989.png (463x421, 376K)

>yfw they impeach him

Attached: 1497542631287.png (500x421, 80K)

Don't know, but I would worry about those increasing racial tensions if I were you

It is way more fractured you’re right. The Trump presidency has been incredibly divisive for America.
People used to just believe different things and be neighbors. But now with Trump everything has an ulterior motive and trumptards will spin anything and everything.

I hope they can at least stop Trump from doing some of the most stupid things
But since Presidents seem to do things by executive orders and national security legislation nowadays it probably won't matter

>midterms give Democrats more control

Attached: 18895_Jeremy-Corbyn-eyes-victory.jpg (376x346, 27K)

Dems ain’t taking the Senate until 2020.
But this year they’ll control the House and take several Govenorships from Republicans. Republicans can enact a lot of legislation that congress and the executive branch can’t touch. And faster.

Also with the House under Democrat control, they’ll control 21 committees with subpoena power, which can’t be vetoed. I hope Trump isn’t impeached so they can grill him for a few more years.

Hey, faggot, stop starting Jow Forums threads here.
You do this shit several times a day, time to give it up.

No I don’t.

Stop anyways

Both parties are the exact same policy wise. EXACT. Obama deported more immigrants than any other pres. for example.

They only differ in PR stunts.

STOP THINKING YOU HAVE TWO CHOICES. IT'S ALL ONE RULING ELITE. FIGHT BOTH.

>this year they’ll control the House
>muh Blue Wave

You know that's never going to happen.

What exactly does a Russian gain from spamming American Jow Forumstard shit on Jow Forums? You do it an awful lot.

haha he thinks he's russian

A Blue Wave would be taking the Senate. They only need a few easy seats to control the House. And quite a lot of Republican governorships are up for grabs.

>we’ll at least get some decent infrastructure projects.
come on, even you don't believe this

Attached: 1509201079728.jpg (480x640, 155K)

I haven't seen a single indication that the Democrat Party has learned anything at all from 2016 and they still have no clue why they lost.

Did you just blow in from Jow Forums? Because you seem like an obnoxious underage with a puddle-depth understanding of politics.

Hillary had 97% probability to win, right?

That’s ok, you’re not very perceptive.

You're not too bright, user.

They'll never impeach him unless he deserves it
If they do that's basically suicide

kek

I've seen nothing but screaming about impeaching Trump and that he's a s00per sekrit Russian spy. While this may perhaps appeal to their diehard base on DailyKos, it's totally irrelevant to the average voter who's more preoccupied with his cost of living, employment prospects, and things like that.

Try spending less time watching the cable news. It's a distraction designed to melt your brain.

I wonder what it’s like getting all your opinions from Jow Forums and Fox News.
That’s got to be really bad for your brain.

>That’s got to be really bad for your brain.
These anons seem to handle it well:

When my parents were kids, Democrats were the party of the working class. What happened?

Identity politics.

At some point along the way they decided to target rich hipsters on the coasts who are only concerned with imaginary problems like transgender bathrooms.

38% of Republicans want another Republican to challenge Trump in the 2020 election. Which would be unprecedented.
Orange Retard is probably the most unpopular president we’ve ever had.

>after the midterms give Democrats more control

Attached: 1389409384306.gif (200x193, 2.09M)

There's a whole lot of complaining but Dems haven't offered any viable alternative to Trump.

Congress mostly exists to pass domestic legislation; their involvement in foreign policy is quite negligible.

>Jow Forumstards shill for trump 24/7 online

so what?
Literally nothing changes
If democrats control the house they still don't control the senate unless trump fucks up in some catastrophic way
the dems will just cockblock donny more often making for more funny political tv since he'll probably just shitpost more on twitter

nah keep going
politics threads on here is better than politics on Jow Forums anyway

American voters are fickle and lazy it is hard to say what will happen but if gas is still less than 3 bucks nationwide and people have money in their pocket in the fall I don't think there will be a sea change

Jow Forums can’t hold any conversation. It’s not an imageboard it’s just a propaganda machine. They’d literally believe 2+2=5 if Breitbart told them. I’d rather kys than f5 on Jow Forums

I don’t think there will be a sea change. But I do wonder about the 9 contentious governorships.

Weird.

All the trumpers were saying the blue wave/democrat rise in the midterms was a fantasy and would never happen? Meanwhile all polling, demographic data and patterning shows it is absolutely happening unless the Republicans pull off a last minute save.

Wonder where all those loud voices are now?

more third world immigration

It'll be mostly the same

>give Democrats more control
>decent infrastructure projects
the absolute delusion of your party

Attached: 1423717398632.jpg (1087x1080, 112K)

>impeach trump
>Mike Pence is new POTUS
I doubt they'll let that happen

Nothing

lame duck president just 2 years into office.

I guess that's what you get when you manage to stand for even less than your average politician.

Attached: 1495853587949.jpg (533x496, 139K)

Democrats have proposed lots of infrastructure projects but republicans killed them during budget talks.
Then they elected a POTUS who campaigned on infrastructure projects.
Then the POTUS didn’t do anything for infrastructure.

HAHAHA
the Republican party will win

realistically speaking, its hard to track, a lot can happen in the next 4 months
the dems might get the house, the senate is a longshot though unless trump decides to go for more racial banter or does dumb shit
if republicans focus on the economy and punt any hard to tackle issues like immigration to the next year then they might do better, but trump has planned to drag immigration out as a big issue for midterms seeing as that's a rally for his core base, but that might backfire since nothing will get done on that end since congress is too divided on that
also if the economy decides to go down the shitter in the next few months then that will also look bad on the republicans

honestly, dems are defending too many seats for them to have a good chance at getting the senate
they might get tenessee and nevada (and maybe even arizona but that's more of a longer shot) but they'll probably lose North Dakota, Indiana, maybe west virginia, and maybe florida.

At this point I'm rooting for Mike Pence to take over. It can't get worse than this.

The numbers I've been watching have the GOP up by 6. In the beginning of this year Dems were up by 12 or so.

I've noticed that there are a lot of American leftists on Jow Forums. I wonder if that's because this is the most reddit board on Jow Forums?

I’m OP and I’m not a leftist. I think you have a skewed definition of left and/or you lump anyone you disagree with together as left

Actually, I’ve seen every indication. Dems have been beating GOP ass hard in the special elections by running moderate candidates who were vastly different from Hillary and appealed to Republicans. That’s why Dems won in districts that were historically rock-solid Republican.

We'll never have the wall that's for damn sure.

What stupid things?

Libertarian and green party are controlled opposition though. They really dont have any choices besides organising a mass infiltration of the dems and republicans, and americans are too brainwashed to go against their system.

Which means 62% don't want ... right.

That could possibly be a career killer for anyone setting themselves up so I doubt there would be serious takers.

dems don't care about infrastructure

>the existence of shitty news outlets invalidates two other sources being shitty
Really makes you think

What if Russia hacks the elections again?

>the most reddit board on Jow Forums
>not Jow Forums

That's true, I was kind of surprised by their success recently, it's good that they're learning
They kind of fucked themselves in the ass with texas though seeing that they voted for Valdez in the primaries

If it's a charismatic candidate it would be quite the career launcher. Trump’s done nothing but career-killing moves and republicans voted for him.

The last 3 presidents who didn’t win a second term all had one thing in common: a challenger in their own party’s primary. Even a popular candidate will get 20% of his party saying they should run someone against him, and an unpopular one such as H.W. Bush had about 30% wanting a primary challenger. But 38% is unheard of. That’s a huge bloc of his own party.

Trump has at times had the same popularity level as candidates who won a second term, but those candidates had much, much higher popularity levels at other times, than Trump’s ever had.

I’m not saying it’s a guaranteed loss, but there’s no indication that he’ll win.

always laughed at foreigners paying such close attention to our elections, but after all the shit trump has pulled I'm starting to see why.
we should extend the vote to Canada and uk, the us presidential race determines who gets to run the world

>anyone who doesn't love Trump is a leftist

Kill yourself. Unironically.

The psycho leftists would disown them anyway as blue dog DINOs.

Intelligence and Twitter and Facebook say they’re trying. We’ll just have to see who Republicans believe.

I agree. In these governorships where they stand a chance of taking Republican seats, it looks like they’re putting forward hard-left candidates who won’t do well in the general election.
Georgia’s nominated a black women who’ll surely get black votes in a heavily-black state but will probably alienate whites in a conservative state.

They've managed to run pragmatic candidates against the wishes of a good chunk of their base. Which is good if they can keep the hardcore progressives from mutinying.

>the dems might get the house, the senate is a longshot though unless trump decides to go for more racial banter or does dumb shit
The House is very hard to flip due to the number of seats involved; it typically remains controlled by one party for decades at a stretch. The Senate changes control much more often.

I don't see any increasing racial tensions in person, only in the news. No one in my state cares what race you are.

>The last 3 presidents who didn’t win a second term all had one thing in common: a challenger in their own party’s primary.

Nader had more effect on Bush Sr. than getting primaried. Ford was never elected president anyway and Carter just got Reaganed hard.

Don't see the connection here.

For the career launcher part ... this would fit for people with nothing to lose, but they would most likely be to unknown for the general. Seems more like Democrat wishful thinking.

Now people with something to lose who can expect to win both the primary and general it seems unnecessary risk for very little gain.

I think Republicans will gain one or two seats in the Senate.
But historically the President’s party loses an average of 26 House seats in his first midterms. Even though Obama was popular, his first midterm was a bloodbath.
So it’s 100% reasonable to expect a candidate as historically unpopular as Trump to lose ~35 House seats.
The governorships up for grabs may not all turn Democrat, but remember the most popular Republican governors are the ones who distance themselves from Trump.

Over 1/3 of Americans are independents who vote for a candidate and not for a party. The media likes pushing the narrative about stereotypical Democrats and Republicans but it's not really that huge of a thing. A republican in Vermont is going to be much different than a republican in Arizona is going to be much different than a republican in Mississippi.

I just want a non-retarded republican president to win. I really wish Jeb! or even Cruz to have won instead instead of the shitshow we have right now

worse case scenario for the dems/best case for the repubs is that the senate goes 46 dems - 54 republicans
best case scenario for the dems will be 51 dems - 49 repubs
realistically though, it'll probably be 50-50 or 49-51

We need Democrats to get any infrastructure projects done.

Republicans: I don’t mind if a private company wants to build high speed rail, o just don’t want government spending on this thing which is a way smarter investment than highways.

Also republicans: I don’t want this company building rail near me! I’m suing!

What are you talking about? It's rich yuppies who are generally Democrat who oppose rail going though their neighborhoods. In my city they opposed the building of a homeless shelter in a nice neighborhood even though the city ordered one to be built in every ward

Kill yourself

>Don't know, but I would worry about those increasing racial tensions if I were you
Our news overexagerates shit. There are no tenstions in 99.9999% of the country. I live in NYC and there is rarely any kind of hate crime.

Rural Republicans in California suing every chance they get is the only CA’s rail has become so expensive.
Rural republicans on Texas suing every chance they get is the only reaso. Texas’s rail has been held up so long.
