This is unsustainable and for no reason should we be paying for their healthcare. Especially taking into account that they have no reciprocity, demanding payment if an Argentinian citizen ends up using a Bolivian hospital. There's a policy underway that charges foreigners to use our hospitals, but for the last 50+ years nothing stopped foreigners from using all our services with no charge.

You can do that over here too. Then you go to the hospital and they tell you to come back in 4 months for a scan.

We have a lot of homeless for the same reason we have a lot of people dying from drug overdoses. People are just giving up, men in particular. When you combine unchecked corporate power growth with 21st century identity politics, things tend to get fucked up.

It does make sense for developed countries with their budgets in check. We just can't afford giving away more shit since we're not. I consider that healthcare should be free only for the citizens, and foreigners be bound to international agreements, say reciprocity policies so both countries agree to cover each other's patients, or the embassies footing the bill, or whatever.

Non-meme answers for why California has a lot of homeless:
1. 1/10th of the US population lives there
2. Cost of living is high
3. Rich people from other states and countries come here, driving up housing prices and causing the housing crisis
4. People move here to "make it big" and fail
