If EOS will hit 175$, then BTC will have obviously gone up too.
Something major would have to happen for BTC to be passed by anything.

BTC failing another load test while old money shorts it could cause it to lose #1. Then all hell breaks loose as everyone jumps in on what they think should be #1.

If BTC had massive problems and it were easier for normies to jump to another coin, then I think they would just pick up the most convenient option, which is ETH atm.
ETH will have another great run during the next major bull run, but I don't think it will have one after that.
