If anything, chainlink would let them less dependent on new, unproven blockchains because they have their dataservices and oracles in place. They can swap out the chain underneath if they don't like it. Or use several blockchains without maintaining duplicate oracles inside different chains. You could use ETH in America and NEO in China for example and both could use the same oracles.
