Anything beyond 3 makes you lose sight of the weapon, it's shit for retention, is less concealable, is slower to draw and will hurt like fuck if you fall on top of it. Carry appendix if you're concealing, or 3 o'clock if you're open carrying. Anything else is just stupid.
