Original Russians or Rus'/Rhos were Vikings from Sweden...

Original Russians or Rus'/Rhos were Vikings from Sweden. They've conquered and enslaved a bunch of Slavic and Finnic tribes, established the state known in modern historiography as "Kievan Rus'" and became its ruling elite.
What do you make out of this???

Nestor was not honest in his chronicle with the whole "they invited Varangians" story. For obvious reasons - he was writing it for Rurikids.

>Apart from Ibn Fadlan's account, Normanist theory draws heavily on the evidence of the Persian traveler Ibn Rustah who, it is postulated, visited Novgorod (or Tmutarakan, according to George Vernadsky) and described how the Rus' exploited the Slavs.
>As for the Rus, they live on an island ... that takes three days to walk round and is covered with thick undergrowth and forests; it is most unhealthy. ... They harry the Slavs, using ships to reach them; they carry them off as slaves and…sell them. They have no fields but simply live on what they get from the Slav's lands. ... When a son is born, the father will go up to the newborn baby, sword in hand; throwing it down, he says, "I shall not leave you with any property: You have only what you can provide with this weapon."

they started speaking slav dialect too soon for that to be true
no ruling elite swede would name his son Igor or Alaksei
Slav tribes were known to not care about invaders and fought and bickered among each other
Swedes united certain tribes probably
Slav barbarians on the other hand were known to capture or steal Viking longboats and raid Vikings themselves
Then sold the boats or trash them because they had enough forests and timber
When the river transit to Constantinople opened, Slavs were among the Vikings in the longboats sailing south for trade, mercenary jobs and slave trades. Slavs got along with Vikings too good. Then Mongols came and changed what war Russia at the time. Then something happened and Russia got rid of the mongols, kept some and expanded east too far for their own good.

>no ruling elite swede would name his son Igor or Alaksei
The first line on Wiki is litterally this
>Igor (Ingvar)
Ing-war -> Ig-war -> Ig-ar -> Ig-or
It's not a far leap linguistically. Neither is Ivan from Ívarr and Eivind, etc.

igor is just a slavified norse name tho, same with oleg

> Igor' [ˈiɡərʲ]; Ukrainian: Iгop, translit. Ihor [ˈiɦɔr]; Belarusian: Iгap, translit. Ihar [ˈiɣar]; Serbian Cyrillic: Игop, pronounced [îɡor]) is a common given Slavic name derived from the Norse name Ingvar, that was brought to ancient Rus' by the Norse Varangians, in the form Ingvar or Yngvar.

The Rus came from Roslagen btw

And neither can you, now shut the fuck up if you have nothing to say aobut Kievan Rus.

Daily reminder that Rurik was Finnish

>What do you make out of this???
That not only all Slavic/Finnic lands our rightful clay, but also all Nordic.

Whoohoo! When would we go to invade them back?

>they started speaking slav dialect too soon for that to be true
You realize that they've operated in these lands almost for a century before the founding of Rus'? And all initial Rus' rulers had Scandinavian names. They've assimilated gradually.
>no ruling elite swede would name his son Igor
Igor is a Scandinavian name - Ingvar...

There's a lot more people involved than Rurik
