I know thats a great work of art but thats a nightmare for traffic. Do these saudis ever hire competent engineers or do they just throw money at engineers till their common sense goes out the window

that's literally a bog standard flyover found in any large city, you flyover hick

what a quintessentially American post

Some cities are better for traffic in the US than others, worst places I've been to for traffic were Pittsburgh, Atlanta, and Washington, D.C.

that looks awful to drive on

Atlanta is god damn nightmare. It makes everything here in Florida look downright pleasant, and Tampa and Orlando both are a mess.

It most likely is.

My city does a good job of dealing with traffic actually.
But then again it had 2 large highways built to support the military in the cold war so it got extra help.
It's the drivers and maintenance thats a fucking bitch

Worst for me was DC, only been there 3 times but every single time I was thinking someone was going to die every 3rd turn onto another intersection.

Don’t be so mean.

DC isnt that bad if you know how to drive. Traffic doesnt move fast enough for it to be bad, since there is no interstate. The traffic outside of DC on interstates is horrible though.

I live in Northern Virginia and I thought our traffic was bad. 2 years ago I took a personal trip to Rome and rented a car. I foolishly thought “it can’t be any worse than the DC metro area!” Holy fuck I was wrong. Driving in Rome was one of the most stressful things I’ve ever done.

They're ripping out their hair over people choosing the car over public transportation

Cars are becoming more popular there?

I guess it makes sense tho. I’ve looked at satellite photos of your country and it looks like there are many suburbs springing up outside of the major cities. Since they are new developments where the trains don’t reach, they have to travel by some means

that's why people walk or use public transport, which is something we dont have here.

shit tons of people drive in Rome. The roads were packed as fuck. And everyone drives like a maniac. I saw a taxi driving ON THE TRAM TRACKS.

Public transit does exist in big and medium sized cities. Also, commute rail does extend to older established communities. The problem is since in the US builds new development and communities it would cost a fucking fortune to extend rail services into new neighborhoods. Not only that, but it would be gymnastics trying to weed through all of the zoning and property laws. I know this because i spoke with my congressional representative just a week ago about this.

>I saw a taxi driving ON THE TRAM TRACKS.
TRAM ROAD IS SHARED YOU RETARD

>that's literally a bog standard flyover found in any large city, you flyover hick
Shut up dumb third worlder faggot I'm surprised you even know what a road was used for other than shitting on

the taxi was literally following the tram. There were barriers on both sides of the tracks meant to show vehicles don’t drive on it.

There's still busses in the suburbs but the general trend is people moving out to middle-sized cities because the big ones are too expensive to raise a family or study in. People are also taking the car because trains and busses often are late or overcrowded. One of our politicians took an one hour train to work every day to set an example and even he said that it was not a comfortable way of life and went back to the car

cars are also a status symbol not to mention EXTREMELY convenient.

>People are also taking the car because trains and busses often are late or overcrowded. One of our politicians took an one hour train to work every day to set an example and even he said that it was not a comfortable way of life and went back to the car

More or less that’s how it is here. People move away from big cities because overcrowding and cost. There’s more privacy in suburbs and it’s much cheaper. There are some buses but only poor people use it. Buses take forever so people prefer driving themselves. There is a regional train that goes from a community here into a major city. I know if many people who use the train. But it’s a bitch if there is a delay, everyone gets to work late.

Proud dweller of Québec city, most km of road per capita in the province (at least).

Ahh someone had a small lunch at 5 guys.

not anymore.

All the hip young people go to the city and use public transit, bikes, walk, scooters, etc.

Cars are more of a boomer thing

Public transit is still very popular in cities that have metro and tram infrastructure.

Generation Z just uses Uber

Paris is not much different

Cali really needs to stop building suburbs

they're not supplying enough affordable housing you know

what you need is less dems in management

At this point it just needs commieblocks.

People in the past would be so utterly disappointed by how the future turned out. The only sci fi thing we have going for us is our stupid ass phones.

I blame hippies
