I started with $500 in September 2017 and now sitting at a $17.000 portfolio (without injecting additional fiat inbetween). Most of my gain is from investing into XLM when IBM partnership is announced (that's when I realized XLM should be in billions of marketcap). Now I don't hold any XLM though.
If you want to make it with small portfolio you need to:
- Not over diversify
- Invest in relatively small MC coins (not necessarily small MC, most important is potential MC that can be reached by that coin in certain timeframe)
- If possible get into the coin early enough
No offense OP but with your portfolio at most you'll get 200-300% gain in the next bull run.

I started with 900 about 10 days ago and I'm now at 3k.
Making real gains with the big players with this little money is pretty damn hard.
Go for the smaller coins.
For example choose a coin that's relatively under radar that has news coming out.
Just bought some Opus. Low MC low price decentralized music exchange that's releasing their apps in a week.
Stuff like this easily does 2-5x in a heartbeat and then you jump out and move to the next small one.
Before this I rode on UUU because I saw the strong buying over at China
I'd say forget the bigger players until you have over 10k to play with, keep on accumulating with the smaller caps first.
