Main net - End of July.

Nah. Swift GPI (Global Payments Initiative) is about their updates to the current payments messaging system.
It allows banks to have full and (close to) instant payment statuses.
This enables them to query accounts before processing funds as well as perform stop payments almost instantaneously (with banks that utilize their updated payments system).

Not technically. The team still needs to add the consensus codes and contracts. Plus, the testing will include penalties, reputation, etc.
As the code is right now it can run on ropsten and run jobs but not accept link, not build reputation, no penalties etc. The team wants everything up and running perfectly before main net.

I wished they built the team a little earlier but the hires are phenomenal. They will pull off the product no problem and hopefully within the timeline I presented.
What you have to understand is smartcontract.com has been creating oracles for clients for years. They also act as an oracle for some clients. Sergey has been at Sibos the last two years with the top execs of banks etc. If Sergey and team convince only a small portion of smartcontract.com clients to use chainlink the network will become instantly valuable...I guess once people witness what I am saying is talked about as the singularity

Also, they are making CL compatible with the old node from what i hear? The only reason i can think of is to make it easier for some clients.
