For example my dad's family grew up in a very poor suburb that was basically the first multicultural area of Sweden. When he was little, it was the poorest Swedes, then there were Finnish immigrants, gypsies, Poles and the first middle easterners in Sweden. Swedes and Finns would form gangs of their own against the gypsy gangs and fight. My dad's Finnish friends all carried knifes in their boots unironically, pretty badass.
