In Sweden...

In Sweden, you can only buy alcohol in government-run shops that rack up the tax revenue and are open during really inconvenient hours in really inconvenient places. It's awful and wrong on so many levels.

imagine what would happen if you could, you know, go to a grocery store and buy alcohol from there. It doesn't work like that

wtf are you talking about, you can buy alcohol literally anywhere. it's just the stronger drinks you have to go to systemet for.

>wrong on so many levels
maybe for a neoliberal who wants all markets to be100% free

Can you buy cold beer outside of Systembolaget?

take a hint, drunkie

if it contains 3.5% or less alcohol, then yes.

>It doesn't work like that

It works like that in a free society, where the government doesn't assume monopoly on certain goods to "protect" the citizenry from themselves.

>wtf are you talking about, you can buy alcohol literally anywhere. it's just the stronger drinks you have to go to systemet for.

That's one level at which it is wrong: the hypocrisy of it.

>maybe for a neoliberal who wants all markets to be100% free

I want freedom. That's it.

That's not allowed, typically.

Don't swedes living in tiny towns and villages brew their own alcohol? Same thing with Norway.

Of course.

Our beer is only to buy in your stateshops?
That's very sad.

>where the government doesn't assume monopoly on certain goods to "protect" the citizenry from themselves.
They do that because you get tax paid treatment when your liver explodes

i bought beer in swedish Lidl, the absolute state of retarded poltards

Same but Doug Ford will sell them everywhere for a dollar soon

It's fine. Swedish fags would just buy Absolut anyway which tastes like total shit.

>They do that because you get tax paid treatment when your liver explodes

No, that's not at all why they do it. However, it is a HUGE cash cow for the state, of course. 2.6 billion € last year alone. I don't even drink, personally.

but it's 3,5% beer alias not real beer.

Was alcoholism this harsh in Sweden that the state had to do this to you?
Here in Bavaria 25% of men are basically alcoholics. And we are just fine.

>you can only buy alcohol in government-run shops

Same here with the SAQ (société des alcools du Québec) there will be a SCQ (cannabis).

No, and they didn't have to do anything. They did it to get a cash cow for tax revenue. That's it.

Does SAQ store have weird hours? Are they open late on Saturdays at least? I can't remember

They close early 20h most days (maybe 21h on friday and sat, can't remember). SAQ express stays open until 22 every night but has smaler selection). After those hours no liquor.

Yes, brewing for personal use is legal.

Alcoholism was really bad in Sweden from, well the begining of time until they started rationing booze in 1919.
There are still tons of alcoholics compared to the rest of the world if I remember correctly.

Fucking kill yourself you greedy selfish faggot. Nobody cares about what you want.

Funny you should say that, since the retarded opening hours requires planning - meaning the average person often overbuys and thus consumes more than they would had they been able to buy small amounts without the worry of not being able to restock if needed.
Limited availability of something does not combat misuse of said something. Alcoholics will still buy their beers and go lie down in a bush in the middle of the day. Junkies will still get their dope regardless if it is illegal. Sandniggers will still get their firearms from the turk around the corner regardless of how strict the gun laws are. Legislation on things like these only affects the good citizen negatively, and does nothing to combat the bad.

>They do that because you get tax paid treatment when your liver explodes
No, we don't.
t. hade a person close to me pass away of a liver disease due to the absolute state of Swedish healthcare and mistreatment from the doctors

Explorer is the most sold vodka on the Swedish market. Absolut is expensive as fuck.

>Was alcoholism this harsh in Sweden that the state had to do this to you?
No, but that is unironically the stated reason for the monolopy on paper. The real reason is making money on it. ABV is taxed, meaning the higher the percentage = the more you pay, above already paying premium for some brands. Selection is also limited at Systembolaget. They have plenty of wines to choose from, but beers and spirits do not come with too many options, and their graphic profile is centered around wines and grapes, so you can see where their interest lies.

No, there are German beers in grocery stores.

>No, there are German beers in grocery stores.
But those are "german" beers.
No real beer here has 3,5% alcohol.

I should invite swedish people to a beer tour so that they can enjoy the art of beer free and happy.

>just wants to buy some alcohol whenever he wants
>NEOLIBERALIST SHIT YOU KEKED PIG

>be me
>be American
>drive to local superstore (it's 2 blocks away but fuck it)
>buy groceries, hard liquor, shemale pornography, a rifle, and pick up my prescriptions all from the same establishment
>can choose from countless varieties of food from across the globe to get on the drive back
>I pick burgers
>they all taste like freedom

>No real beer here has 3,5% alcohol.
I know. I never buy them. Beers are like spirits in that alcohol actually contributes to the flavour, and I drink beers for the taste and not to get drunk, so I prefer beers with some higher ABV from above average quality breweries.

I like alot of German beers actually, as well as Czech ones. Swedish lagers are a tragedy.

And then you get shot by police.

Sorry, not a black/criminal.

The greed is that of the state and none other. Also you, for presumably wishing to steal from me.

Alcohol should be banned anyway

Mashallah brother, in due time it will.

What's the cheapest beer you can get lads? Here it's €1/l 5% beer from Aldi, it's even fairly decent.

half a euro for a can? almost as cheap as here

The first portion of this post is what I've been trying to tell people for ages, but they won't listen. Glad someone else gets it. Restricting alcohol the way we do it only results in people drinking more when they actually do drink. Our terrible drinking culture is a direct result of our laws.

Are those the cheapest you can get?

Thank you, based woke ally.

At least you don't have hurricanes.

Can someone explain the logic of having a state monopoly on alcohol of all things?

Attached: vnlnntvwbsmz.1.jpg (948x474, 65K)

Absolut is owned by the Swedish royalty.

AH Lager costs I think €0.23 per bottle. It's €5.50 for a full crate.

More money for the government. It's the same with sigarettes, they don't give a shit about your health but they put insane amount of taxes on it to milk addicts dry under the excuse of trying to "help those people".
Luckily making your own booze is very easy.

>waaaah why won't the government stop me from drinking so much
>personal responsibility? lol, only third worlders care about that

but you can't drink an open container on the streets

That's like 33% cheaper, interdasting. There isn't an AH nearby so i don't know if the prices are similar here in Belgium.

It is an exception though. Anything else and you pay more than €1/L

Alcohol is shit anyway

t. drinks too much

There is no logic, only a vague argument of "alcohol is bad so eeeh restrict access plz!". It's really all about the state growing rich on people's drinking, at the cost of our drinking culture (which because of restrictions have turned into people drinking as much as they possibly can when they first devide to drink instead of a more relaxed relationship to drinking)

I wonder if there's a chance of marijuana legalization soon in Sweden or any other EU country.

I heard nordics don't like drugs in general so I assume no.

they are surprisingly anti-drugs. A friend of mine studied in Sweden and since they have the label of being even more progressive than us he thought it would be like the Netherlands, but next to nobody did drugs there or had anything.

*unsheathes brown paper bag

officially it's illegal over here too, I think. But it's not enforced, and it's legal once you're no longer on the road or sidewalk (in a park or on a terrace)

>I wonder if there's a chance of marijuana legalization soon in Sweden or any other EU country.

None whatsoever. We're more like Singapore than we are like China in that regard.

>China

*California, I mean

lol

clarification: obviously you can still buy stronger beer and alcohol in bars and restaurants.

Also, despite what the jontes in this thread is saying, swedish alcohol culture is fucking awful and it's all about getting piss fucking drunk as fast as possible, shouting, vomiting, hooking up with ugly chicks at bars and in general being an obnoxious dick. We don't have the alcohol culture of france, italy or germany where people drink beers and wine just because it's tasty, it's all about being hammered so you have an "excuse" to loosen up and not being a huge autist all the time.

>be czech
>doctors and "addictologists" keep crying how alcohol is still far too cheap and available
>politicians won't do shit because they know fucking with people's booze will get them out of the parliament faster than stealing candy from children

do you really think that's not the same everywhere?

That's just underclass behaviour. We have this too of course.

I think that people are able to drink a beer with your food without getting completely wasted, or a glass of wine. Here it's impossible.

>Here it's impossible.
Then you are delusional. Not everyone is turning a beer or a glass of wine into a drunken shitfest.

Just because the youth are scum with their drinking doesn't mean everyone is. Yes, I've been drunk like that, but 99% of my drinking is having a cold beer or a stiff drink to enjoy in the privacy of my home. Most people's family dinner parties have beer, wine, and so forth, and everyone is having a good time conversing and eating and drinking. It's not a boozefest. It's not even a boozefest when I hang out with my friends my age, even though we "should be partying lole xD" when we go out or just hang at home with drinks and alcohol.
