No our birthrate is declining. And some of that is probably economic. Some of that is just having a highly individualist culture to begin with. Family means sacrifice especially for women, its something you do for the betterment of society as a whole, at your own expense.
However.....I think part of this is also that the weird frankenfoods we eat are hurting our fertility. All anecdotal but I am having a hard time conceiving. And I am not that old (early 30s). Many friends too have hard time concieving. Back in the past people would have 10 kids without even having to try, but now I am struggling for 1 kid and even thinking of going to fertility doctor (aka more $$$$ many young people can't afford)
