toxic masculinity edition
/éire/
'Toxic masculinity' actually used to refer to young boys growing up in broken homes without a father figure getting their image of masculinity from gangs or the media (stuff like corny action movies) but for some reason it got warped by SJWs to refer to masculinity in general being toxic.
*aborts you*
Shit edition. Toxic masculinity is just something feminists made up to encourage the emasculation of men.
Are Irish “””people””” white?
Agreed to watch someone’s bag at the airport while they go have a wee. What’s the probability I’m about to be blown up
>Are Irish “””people””” white?
they are mostly Y haplogroup R1b which is an asian haplogroup so the irish are mostly asians.
depends, how hooked was the persons nose?
Pretty hooked
>Pretty hooked
hmm. can you hear any ticking at all?
I see some non whites gangraped some roastie after a night out in Kildare. You're Sweden now.
>so the irish are mostly asians.
Anime confirmed to be quintessentially Irish.
Not seeing anything about that in the news today, Howth. Where did you hear about that?
Bad booked.
Sean Dunphy had a great voice
>give me approval Howth!!!
Thanks.
I only asked a question.
Working your way up to pop the big question, hmm?
>marrying an emigrant
>votes to declare child murder legal
>opened a /brit/ thread to see what the OP image was about
>first post is by an Irish user desperately trying to fit in with the anglos
How embarrassing.
i wonder if they hurt the popes feelings.
>fit in with the anglos
you could only be so lucky
I guess we'll find out when he comes here later this year.
the pope is pretty progressive. he'll probably say its a good thing: "sending children directly to god" or something.
Probably thinks it's a bad thing since there's less potential children for them to abuse
>decreasing the priests stock
in the coming new: IRELAND EXCOMMUNICATED
Edgy.
The Pope has been pretty explicitly against abortions (and abortion being legal) like any decent person.
Looks like we'll be voting on the Blasphemy article from the constitution next. I need to decide which way I will vote on that I suppose.
>still no legalized weed
Literally no reason for me to visit at this point
Expected better of you.
Acting a certain way because of your genitals is ooga booga caveman tier.
Acting like a chauvinistic asshole because "that's how males are supposed to act" is even worse.
So we should instead act according to how the feminists tell us to act?
>Acting like a chauvinistic asshole because "that's how males are supposed to act" is even worse.
What if it just feels good ? I do feminine things (like lying and manipulating) but straight up intimidation feels better when I can get away with it and releases dopamine.
...that's what you got out of that? Fuck no. You should act however you think is appropriate.
Whatever floats your boat, man.
First for cute alters. How we all?
>I remember the days when you didn't go to bed when it was still bright out
Those were indeed the days. The best of times and the worst of times, similar to now.
>Codladh sámh
Merci. It was alright.
>How we all?
Are you missing an "are" there?
>Are you missing an "are" there?
No? What makes you thinks that?
Massive increase in womanly posting as soon as you come back.
My mother was asked to look after a strange bag at Croke Park once. The lad came back though, turns out the thing was packed with sweets and he gave her some as thanks. Strange occurrence.
>cute alters
Do they help with mass?
>Do they help with mass?
Maybe, though I'd say it would heavily depend on which God you're praying to.
>berkeley tier faggot general
>it's called /éire/
Fuck off every single one of you if you lot are going to have a bender general do not name it after MY( yes its mine) Country
Stop acting like such weeaboo yanks and be Irish or fuck off and make your /gay/ general without tarnishing the good name of my homeland
>outfit
WHAT
t. Posts in /brit/
>alters
>Do they help with mass?
That's an altar.
What's wrong with it?
>What's wrong with it?
Nothing, it's perfect.
>Looks like we'll be voting on the Blasphemy article from the constitution next.
Fine Gael will stop at nothing to destroy Catholic Ireland. I bet all schools will be forced to be multi-denominational next. This country is beyond redemption
At least our country remains sensible on the drugs issue, we actually seem to be still taking steps against drugs such as talk of outlawing rickshaw drivers. Not to mention Hangar is closing down in Dublin so that's another blow for drugfags. Granted both of these relate more to pills than weed
Couldn't have timed it better...
>Blasphemy article from the constitution
>Catholic Ireland
That was revised to include blasphemy against any religion years ago. Now it's just one of those "hate speech" articles.
>That was revised to include blasphemy against any religion years ago.
Whoops, was not aware of this. It serves no practicality then so I don't mind if it's scrapped
By Allah, will there be any trace of Ireland by 2030?
Can't wait for the GAA to banned and every citizen is mandated to support our national soccer team in their failure to reach the World Cup every 4 years.
You'll have to support Northern Ireland just as equally too, or else you are a knuckle dragger.
Women wearing tights under trousers is a really underrated look desu
Shall take your word for it.
Post examples.
Yeah, it’s better to be raped by good old Irish lads.
I don't pay much attention to the clothing of 3D women.
In what way did you find them better?
>cracking down in rickshaw drivers
Where am I gonna get my weed now
Detroit Become Human is shite.
>David Cage game is shite
As expected.
First one I've played. Thought the stories were supposed to be good in his games though.
Usually people just see the phrase "toxic masculinity" and get defensive.
A lot of traditional aspects of masculinity (aggression, stoicism, sexual adventurism, and individualism) can sometimes be harmful and its retarded to think this is not connected to violent crime, rape, and the male suicide rate.
The issue though is how we can figure out what behaviors actually are harmful and whether or not ideals of masculinity actually need to be changed to fix them.
They’re white, obviously. Nothing beats a good aul Irish raping.
>nd whether or not ideals of masculinity actually need to be changed to fix them.
By adopting feminine ideals?
Is it impossible to have gender less ideals?
Both men and women are terrible at planning for the future and dealing with stress, they just crack in different ways. Men beat their girlfriends or shoot themselves, women beat their children or suck a stranger's cock.
The problem with the term "toxic masculinity" is how inconsistent the application of it is. I certainly do agree somewhat with the concept, but it's applied to any aspect of male behaviour deemed problematic by the user, from men just slagging each other, or not expressing their emotions to all out violent rape. "Toxic" of course obviously has innately negative connotations and coupled with masculine makes a universal attribution of this negative culture or behaviours to all men which is deeply offensive, as if these behaviors are an innate part of all men. It's an unhelpful phrase, inherently divisive, with a too extensive scope to be useful to describe these complex concepts because it simplifies them.
The other detraction I have to the term is how it usually attributes this problem to men, and stops there without any further investigation as to the causes of the phenomenon or apportions any of the blame to wider society. Toxic masculinity, men being "men", IS the cause and that's usually enough of a conclusion for most people who subscribe to the concept.
>rose chocolate
World Cup starts tomorrow.
Not really looking forward to it.
At least Ireland aren't in it so it should be easy enough to ignore.
We're supporting the Saudis tomorrow btw.
>so little anime
Barely feels like /éire/ at all.
I sure hope the EU doesn't ban memes. On the other hand, if they do ban them, it will just drive them underground, which could possibly bring about a second golden age.
Memes are serious business.
Weebs fear the bad book
Nerd.
I'd say that most people here are "nerds" to some extent.
Don't think the anime posters actually add much to the threads desu, beyond constant avatarfagging and circlejerking and nattering on about inane bollocks
Feck off, it's great.
>Don't think the anime posters actually add much to the threads desu
Do non-animefags add something that the animefags don't?
>circlejerking and nattering on about inane bollocks
But that's exactly what this thread has been so far. All that's missing is the "avatarfagging". Yet this thread is dead compared to most /éire/ editions. I don't care for anime one way or another, but it can't be denied that they have a noticeable effect on the general. I haven't been on /éire/ as long as most people, but it just feels more alive when they are here.
They also can’t speak Irish.
How is that relevant?
>Do non-animefags add something that the animefags don't?
They would do but the animefags, who are nearly all personalityfags, are too busy circlejerking to reply to them usually
>But that's exactly what this thread has been so far.
Where?
>All that's missing is the "avatarfagging".
Scroll up
>Yet this thread is dead compared to most /éire/ editions.
No it's not, pretty average
>I don't care for anime one way or another,
good for you
>but it can't be denied that they have a noticeable effect on the general.
a shit effect yeah
>I haven't been on /éire/ as long as most people,
hopefully you stick around
>but it just feels more alive when they are here.
dont even read their posts anymore desu since they have nothing interesting to say, im sure it does feel more alive when they're having their riveting and animated private conversations and ignoring everyone else
>No it's not, pretty average
>86 posts in almost 12 hours
>They would do but the animefags, who are nearly all personalityfags, are too busy circlejerking to reply to them usually
I've got plenty of (you)s from animefags.
>Where?
Everything so far in this thread has been nothing but nattering about inane bollocks. But every general on Jow Forums is like that.
>Scroll up
I'm not seeing any avatarfagging.
>No it's not, pretty average
Less than 100 posts before midnight is below average for /éire/, at least in the time I've been here.
>good for you
I think you may have an issue with it however.
>a shit effect yeah
I disagree.
>hopefully you stick around
If /éire/ comes back to life a bit, I'm sure I will.
>dont even read their posts anymore desu
Sounds like you're perpetuating a self-fulfilling prophecy.
>and ignoring everyone else
I haven't experienced this. I agree with you that the animefags have a habit of talking among themselves, but I've never felt like they're erecting a barrier around themselves here. I've had plenty of conversations with animefags on /éire/, just like how I've had conversations with non-animefags (often both at the same time). The only difference is that one group posts pics of anime girls and the other doesn't.
Why does almost every Jow Forums general have constant arguments about people who post anime images? /brit/ is the only exception I think of.
Jow Forums is full of newfags who don't understand that Jow Forums is an anime imageboard.
There was a thread up earlier today where an Aussie was sperging out about anime on Jow Forums. The people who were arguing with him were saying the exact same things and posting the exact same images that we see here whenever somebody starts getting autistic about the presence of anime on /éire/. It was a bit surreal.
I'm turbo-hyped but I can't watch every game this time because of work AHHHHHH, guess I'll settle for streaming some
It happens on some other boards too. Some people have this idea that every board is a containment board and you shouldn't be allowed to post anime outside of /a/.
It is almost methodical how their reactions are, like they're reading from a script. Post screencaps of moot saying that Jow Forums is an anime website and they'll go on about him not being around anymore, even though Hiro has backed up those words and the rules about anime haven't changed at all.
this is yesterdays thread this thread took a day and a half to reach bump limit what's inane about about it? list them. apart from the animefags talking about the outfits of the characters they post, riveting stuff
they post images with the intent to be recognised which they are so for all intents and purposes it's the same thing
see above
nope
okay
cool
no
i have, lots of times ive been ignored and seen other users ignored, even when replying to them before another poster they can recognise responds to them and with more engagement to the content of their post
bet you are one of the personalityfag circlejerkers too just taking offense to it too lol
Beginning to reach the conclusion that this general has become a bit shite. Too many jaded posters who are miserable all the time and angry with everything.
I know they were always a part of it but they seem to be in the majority now and regulars have either joined them or just don't bother to make an effort anymore. I'm sure one of them will reply to this to point out the parts of my post that are wrong and how everything here is wonderful but I'm going to bed so will unfortunately miss that conversation.
Sad looking back and seeing how full of life it used to be.
desuarchive.org
its been shite for ages because of people like you
I saw this exact conversation dozens of times here
>this is yesterdays thread
>compared to most /éire/ editions
If your idea of most is the last 3 days then sure.
>i have, lots of times ive been ignored and seen other users ignored
Judging by the quality of this post here I'm going to guess you were posting some shite that no one wanted to engage you with. You're also only blaming personalities for ignoring you when no one in the thread did. No one here is obligated to reply to each post you make and if you're not a known personality like you claim then it couldn't be anyone ignoring you because of who you are, which leaves the only conclusion that you must have been making terrible posts that no one was interested in replying to.
>bet you are one of the personalityfag circlejerkers
So you're accusing him of being one of the personalities that never respond to you, even though he's taking the time to engage you on this?
It's all a bit tiresome. I'll never understand how something as benign as anime can be so divisive. It's essentially the background noise of Jow Forums yet some people can't seem to accept that.
