I am yet to find one nice suburban town around Boston. For some reason everything looks old and worn out, even towns like Cambridge. Old tiny wood houses, cracked pavement, disintegrating sidewalks, shitty lawns, etc. I am in the midwest and we have a lot of shitty areas too but I love our new glitzy suburbs and shopping malls etc. which of course many people would hate. Northeast has a lot of "character" and it looks mature but very worn down, just like Greece.

This. Their attitude would change if they actually had to live there. Oregon is horrible now if you live in Portland. The infrastructure cannot accommodate all the people moving and the homeless just keeps on increasing.

I didn't mean the Northwest is terrible. In fact, it's a great place to visit (preferably during the summer) But so many people make it out as a paradise, it couldn't be further from the truth. I've seen many people move out here (such as myselfs) then they get fed up with the region and decide to move either back home or somewhere else. The only ones that manage to stay here are the ones who were born and raised.

Here are some pros and cons

>No sales Tax (at least in Oregon)
>Don't have to fill up gas (Oregon)
>It's not necessary to have a car to get around, unlike other parts of the US.
>Beautiful nature
>Mild weather
>Close to Canada
>Legal Weed (inb4 Dude weed lmao)

Cons
>Expensive as fuck and continues to rise
>Too many people moving
>A LOT of homeless
>depressing weather in the winter. So much rain and greyness
>Not much to do if you don't live in a city
>The locals are kind of aloof and unfriendly

But you can literally apply the same pros and cons to thousands of other locations. Realize that it is very subjective, too. Things like weather, what to do for fun, unfriendliness of the locals , having someone fill up gas (no thank you), weed (no thank you), no car (i love cars), close to canada (don't care), etc etc
So it really boils down to:

So it is all about the cost of living. Just like everywhere.
