Religion is obviously not the most important factor here though, it's just correlation and anyone with two brain cells can realize that.For example the poorest parts of Germany are least religious and wealthiest are more religious. The least religious countries are Czech Republic and Estonia yet they lag behind many more religious countries. If you were to do an actual economic study and include other factors the R2 would with certainty show that religion is a negligible extraneous variable with little weight towards quality of life. In fact it is probably beneficial considering religious people live 4 year longer than atheists
