Chinese vs Japanese

Due to my native language structure, I feel Japanese is much easier language.
Since I was a kindergarten student, I grew up receiving Japanese language education hosted by local public schools, because I live in the city nearest to Japan in my country (Ferry round-trip fare less than $50)

Okay, the more I get into kanji the more I admire the natural environment of Chinese characters that the Chinese language is. When it comes to that sort of thing Chinese makes Japanese look like child's play. Chinese song lyrics can be very beautiful linguistically. I think it's also much easier to make friends with Chinese people than with Japanese people (Japanese guys are pretty lame and I don't have yellow fever tyvm). However, I don't generally like people, so it's not a priority for me to be friends with anyone. Chinese is still a difficult foreign language, even if you're comfortable with Japanese kanji and all, and it is not easily learned. There isn't much right now to keep my motivation up, were I to start learning it.

As a weeb what I think you need is traditional characters, and their forms should follow the Kangxi dictionary, in which the eternal peak of printing aesthetics was achieved by Qing scholars. Going from Japanese to Chinese, supposed to be the damn original language, shouldn't feel like a downgrade. Even the Taiwanese character forms are weird.

Japanese at least has a certain "europeaness" to it, phonologically speaking. But Chinese sounds completely alien and kinda disgusting. Also, the fact that the language is tonal makes it automatically unappealing to learn for gwailos. Finally, the fact that they switched to simplified characters kinda ruins what little appeal their logographic writing system could have possibly had.

to talk with Japanese, you need to learn Japanese.
to talk with Chinese, you speak English to them.

Most of the people involved in producing Japanese subtitles for anime seem to be Chinese (so far to me). If true, the Chinese must be our the greatest weeb allies.

I might eventually learn Mandarin before I turn thirty because after Japanese, Chinese seems to be only reasonably difficult instead of very difficult. I feel closer to Chinese grammar than to Japanese grammar even now. It's so ridiculously SVO and direct, it makes English sound complicated and meandering. I'll just hope China manages to make itself more culturally relevant than it is now before I grow old and die.

PRC(簡体) and Japan(国字) are different from Hong Kong /Taiwan(正体字) in the kanji.

Yeah but for example 経験 and 经验 are both the same shit. It's the same word. Other words where Japanese has 経, in simplified Chinese will also have 经. It's the same character, only that it looks somewhat different. Entire sentences in Mandarin are readable for Japanese people even in simplified script after minimal grammatical preparation.

By the way, the traditional version of 経験/经验 is 經驗. It is different. But it's the same shit, really.

Grammar takes a short time (other than getting fine nuance). Vocabulary takes a very long time. If your vocabulary is mostly shared because of 漢字, then you end up learning that language easily just because you already sort of know what you're learning. By the way, Chinese grammar is fucking primitive. It's just lining up 漢字 (漢字の並び方が文法、ということ). It makes English grammar look hard.

I don't care about anime and mildly interested in Japanese literature and movies. I started attending a Japanese course, though, to meet girls who are interested in Japanese and anime. So far it even pays off since I casually walk with a girl after the lessons and we talk quite personal stuff.
