NY Latinos are Puerto ricans and domincans and are closer to blacks than CHIs are
Mexicans who listen to rancheras are a different type of CHI (usually more into things from mexico and speak spanish pretty fluently)than the Chicano rap group(usually no very little to poor spanish and tend to hate on on actual mexicans) this group is the one who have identity issues

idk when i went to mexico to visit my senpai some uncles would shit talk blacks but then again he worked as a coyote for a year or two and maybe some of the sentiments from the CHIs he was with rubbed off on him because none of my other family made any remarks about blacks(honestly dont even think they even think about black people)

Blacks arent all that common here, we did had slaves (see previous post) but they where outnumbered by indians and whites and racemixing was way more common, nowdays you will see mexicans with noticeably african admixture in places like veracruz and guerrero but they don't look full on black like americans, there are some isolated towns in guerreros costa chica that had less mixing and some Seminole black tribes un Chihuahua that ran away here during the underground railroad but thats preetty much it so yeah the average mexican dont really think about them at all
