Holy shit this is retarded.

Spartan won I remember

Am I wrong or isnt it obvious?
>Spartans
>Metal Spear, shield and armor
>Aztecs
>A club with sharp rocks on it and fur clothing

>Metal Spear, shield and armor

Their shield wasn't metal but had a bronze covering. The Spartans of the classical era wore no metal body armor instead they wore a crimson tunic as part of their uniform.

The Spartans weren't know for their fighting prowess. During the Spartan occupation of Thebes young Thebans were encouraged to take on the Spartans on the wrestling ring in order to show them they weren't invincible. To this the Spartans banned wrestling.

The Spartans did not practice with their weapons instead we are told it was shunned by them. The Spartans however did maintain a diet and physical exercise to be on the lean side. They didn't do strength training but physical training to be more agile and have better endurance.

However they weren't better individual fighters than their contemporaries. In the Olympics during their prime they only took one win in combat sports but took something like 13+ wins in chariot racing. The Spartans had a knack in engaging in the very expensive sport of chariot racing.

Spartas were succeptible to pshycological warfare which the Aztec employed en masse. Spartans were always frightened and paranoid while the Aztec couldn't care less.

What makes you think the Spartans were paranoid?

the spartan would sneeze and the battle would be over

Everything? Their entire society was structured around the fear of a slave revolt. That's why they hardly ever went to war, WHAT IF THE SLAVES REVOLT WHILE WE'RE AWAY?!

lol

SPARTAN BVLL wreck that Azt*C boipussy

Except for the fact that it's been overblown. Both in pop history and Athenian propaganda. In our source material helots are treated as part of the background, and we even find out that the Spartans went about their daily lives unarmed. The helot system wasn't unique to the Spartans either, this type of system is attested in places like Thessaly and it's also attested in archaic Greece such as the Naked People of Argos.

The Spartans had many ways of dealing with helots such as humilation by making them wear dogskin caps, cooperation with both helots and perioikoi figures, and others. They didn't spend night and day worrying about the Helots.

Spartans
how is this a question?

Ancient Greeks were mostly formation fighters, Aztecs more individual warriors. I'd say the jaguar warrior has a chance since hoplite armor didn't fully cover the wearer

>They didn't spend night and day worrying about the Helots.

This goes against literally everything we know about the Spartans and you're basing this nonsense on nothing but your own conjecture. Is this how history works in America? "What I think is right is right?"

in 3018 the chinese space empire will be playing this to explain what americans were like

Maybe this is the so-called "Swedish education" everyone speaks highly off. I'm just going to link you as to why you are wrong and link you to update study on the Spartans:

>This random paper disproves everything!

Please stop embarassing yourself, you disgusting psuedo-intellectual. Why would you ever try to argue against such overwhelming evidence? Ignoring you now unless you wish to apologize.

Spartans were bred to war with city states. Probably wouldn't have done well in the jungle. Maybe. 1v1 Jaguar lad would get Molon labe'd the fuck out.1v20

>Their shield wasn't metal but had a bronze covering
Have you seen one of those shields irl? They are immense and made out of solid metal.

>The Spartans did not practice with their weapons instead we are told it was shunned by them.
Are you sure about that? I heard it was the other polis that shunned weapon training, while the Spartans did actually do some form of combat training (of course it might depend on era)

Not all shields were all bronze. Maybe the solid ones were more expensive and less popular.

we know what Spartans did and their reputation
Aztecs have no rep

No they weren’t, they were made out of wood with a thin sheet of bronze. A solid metal shield would literally be too heavy to carry around for long.

>Hoplites carried a large concave shield called an aspis (often referred to as a hoplon), measuring between 80–100 centimetres (31–39 in) in diameter and weighing between 6.5–8 kilograms (14–18 lbs).[9][10] This large shield was made possible partly by its shape, which allowed it to be supported on the shoulder. The hoplon shield was put together in three layers: the center layer was made of thick wood, the outside layer facing the enemy was made of bronze, and leather made up the inside of the shield.

Also the Spartan would lose because he would get shanked in the back by a Healot as soon as he turned to fight the Jaguar. The Spartans literally could only go to war for short periods of time because the Healots would revolt every time the warriors left.

No. Plato makes it pretty clear in Laches that the Spartans did no do the act of weapon training. Xenophon also makes zero mentions of any mock combat or even any weapon training. In fact when King Agesialos of Sparta is out in Asia minor his hoplites do not train with their weapons but rather engage in physical exercises. However his ranged men do in fact practice with their bows and slings and his horsemen their horsemenship.

In fact their "military" training was pretty much just practicing a simple formation drill which amounted to simply following the man in front of you. Xenophon tried to sell this idea to the other Greeks but it was in vain since they thought it was too complex. Their exercising did have martial applications but it was done as part of leisure class activities on the whole.

>They actually made Washington win

This is no rabble of mindless greeks. These are Spartans. Their armor is thick and their shields broad

Greeks had metallurgy and horses vs wooden and glass weapons

>Aztecs

The Spartans wore no armor, at least during the Classical period when they adapted their iconic uniform.

>In the equipment that he devised for the troops in battle he included a red cloak, because he believed this garment to have least resemblance to women's clothing and to be most suitable for war, and a brass shield, because it is very soon polished and tarnishes very slowly.1 He also permitted men who were past their first youth to wear long hair, believing that it would make them look taller, more dignified and more terrifying. Xen. Const. Lac. 11.3

It's a solo duel.

Heritage means nothing. I don't know about the Aztecs but the Spartans operated in an environment of clumsy, untrained, undisciplined and unprofessional militias.

We really don't know much about the aztec warriors, how they train, how they where taught to fight, etc. Kinda hard to tell.

>Spartans operated in an environment of clumsy, untrained, undisciplined and unprofessional militias
i bet you haven't even seen 300 lol
This, this discussion is worthless and OP is probably race baiting.
I wish the Spanish didn't destroy everything like fags, it was such a weird civilization.

Spartan would win if they were using weapons and armor, armor would save Spartan's life a lot of times after the aztec guy tried to hit his vital points. The hardest armor an aztec warrior could have was a wooden shield, they used cotton breastplates too.

Also, should we consider the elite forces of the mexica (aztec) army? or just a regular militia?.
