How's life in Costa Rica? What are the pros/cons of living there?

Is it /comfy/?

it looks very nice to me overall, but why is homicide rate so high tho?

>south america

Attached: 1529519611476.webm (960x540, 2.5M)

what country is it?

arr rook same

I rather die.

I'm scared by their homicide rates, but other than that their countries look like chill as fuck.

Panama is just the offshore city, the rest of the country is a violent shithole.

Costa Rica in the other hand is safer, and nicer in overall.

>What are the pros/cons of living there?
Off the top of my head:
Pros: Nice weather, relatively good living standards, relatively good development overall

Cons: Everything's expensive, shitton of traffic everywhere, crime has been increasing lately

>but why is homicide rate so high tho
We are in the middle of Mexico and Colombia, so the cartels use us as a bridge/station to transport drugs to the US, around 75% of last year's homicides were linked somehow to drugs, we also have a lot of nicaraguans and immigrants from central america and the Caribbean here (among the biggest shitholes in the world), the most notorious criminals here are usually foreigners.

Other than that I guess it's pretty comfy, but i prefer to not consider it that because I don't want to get used to the rising violence in my country, even if it's low compared to other latin american countries.

My country has about the same homicide rate as yours.

what game is that?

I wish you to get rid of these c*rtels and remain best(one of) cunt of Latin America

what's your opinion on Panama btw?

Me on the right.

>what's your opinion on Panama btw?
Great neighbors, our countries have good relations. I went there some years ago and had a great time, didn't visit the capital or the canal tho. Also, I think they've already surpassed us in terms of development.

max payne 3

Costa Rica sounds more comfy, Panama sounds more fun.

I'd go for Panama. High HDI countries like Finland, Costa Rica and Switzerland may be nice but they sound dreadfully boring

hey, Panama user, you seem to be very knowledgeable about fellow central american cunts

redpill me on them

This is the most out of touch bait I've ever read.
>Panama is just the offshore city,
Panama city is famous for it's "offshore services", just like Singapur, Switzerland or the many British Overseas Territories. But if you ever look it up instead of being all jeallows and salty, you would know Panama city is way more than a Tax haven. Banking services are not even that big of a part of the countries economy for starters.
>the rest of the country is a violent shithole
Even more laughable. The rest of the country (with the exception of Colon) is way safer than the capital. You are talking out of your ass.

wew

you posted it twice

Okay. You could divide Central American into the Three up North (the North Triangle), Then you have Nicaragua in the middle, Costa Rica and Panama to the south, and finally Belize.
>North Triangle
This is the place that most people think about when talking about Central America. Migrants in violence news from Central America mostly come from here.
Guatemala is the heard of the Mayan world. They have cool Pyramids and interesting Amerindian cultures as well as interesting colonial places like Antigua. Gorgeous natural scenery, mountains and volcanoes. They have problems with poverty and violence but I think they are overall the better out of the North Triangle.
El Salvador is the one with better infrastructure. They have descend roads and stuff. I kind of like their cities. San Salvador and Santa Ana seem to have nice urbanism and architecture, at least in the touristic areas. But they have a really serious problem with violence.
Honduras has the worst problems with violence right now. And the poverty is really bad. I know that Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula (their biggest cities) are developing somewhat, but still they have a lot of issues. They also have some Mayan pyramids and in the Caribbean coast they have an important amount of blacks.
>Nicaragua
Birth place of Rubén Dario. Stunning lakes, mountains… Leon and Granada are beautiful colonial cities. Sadly they have huge poverty problems and a terrible government. But it is a country with great potential.
>Costa Rica and Panama
This are the only countries in Central America that are pretty developed by Latin American standards.
Costa Rica is more peaceful. Has a lot of mountains. They developed the ecotourism to its maximum potential. Very green and ecofriendly overall.
Panama is very centralized. Most people live in the Metropolitan region. It has better infrastructure and higher GDP per capita. But it is more unequal and have slightly more poverty than Costa Rica for example.

Belize is like a Caribbean island but in mainland Central America for some reason. I is mostly a black country and they speak English.

Also I'd like to add that Panama city completely BTFOs anything in CR in terms of infrastructure, Costa Rican infrastructure is pretty shit and that's another con

I bet they're both humid and hot shitholes

The first one was to ruched and I made some mistakes. Also, I wanted to add a countryside pic.

as always informative, user

boards.Jow Forums.org/int/thread/91191090/

How would you explain Nicaragua's exceptionally low crime rates?

Do you think that Panama surpassed CR in terms of developement?
as far as I understand, Panama has a huge inequality problem, especially in it's capital?

Been in both. Costa for sure

Panama easily. Though Costa RIca would be a good choice too . They're both exactly like my country, so adapting wouldn't be an issue

Your country has more history but is also a low key shit hole

is narcos real

>boards.Jow Forums.org/int/thread/91191090/
Oh, no problem.

>Do you think that Panama surpassed CR in terms of developement?
It is very hard to define. I personally would say that no. Both Countries have their own pros and cons but are somehow at a similar stage of development.
>as far as I understand, Panama has a huge inequality problem, especially in it's capital?
Yes. Huge inequality problem. One of the more unequal in LatAm actually. It is just that there are so much money and so small population that it is not reflected in huge chunks of the population under the poverty line. We have people living in awful conditions. but they are not a big percentage. Poverty is not as bad as in other Latin countries tho. Most poor people have access to public services like Higher education and health care. There are actually too many subsidies and the government builds a lot of social housing every year.

Another issue is the Amerindians. They live in substandard conditions, but there is not much we can do. They live in autonomous regions called comarcas and they practically govern themselves.

that's really saying something considering your flag

Tell us your story, pls.

not really, but whatever. Didn't come here to argue. This country is pretty big and has tons of both shitty and pretty developed places

back in the 80s, yeah

Don't get me wrong. There's obviously nice parts but it's not easy to recover from decades of war. I happened to have seen a ton of slums

yeah but I'm talking about culture. there are virtually zero or very little differences between us and panamanians or costarricans, and regarding development there are entire regions a couple of times the size of both countries with just about the same level of development asthem while at the same time we have other regions that take the national average down

I never said your culture was shit lmao. I was just saying it's far more prevalent than in Panama.
