Hello Chang

>modern architecture

>impractical
when you only consider practiciality your buildings soon wil be useless

read some roger scruton pleb

2. what the fuck has australia to preserve lmao? mudhuts?

Modern architecture is the definition of impractical

>Old building getting fucked by a modern abomination.
That's hopefully not real.

Good, almost every building should be temporary. And you're starting to understand why it's especially so frustrating for Australians. People start demanding that their cruddy 80yo bungalows are cultural relics worth protecting, even when they're inner city where high-rise buildings make so much more sense today. Basically our trash boomers like to pretend to be cultured

that looks like some alien attachment
fucking half life 2 vibes

yes, I'd like to preserve something like this

Attached: file.png (640x347, 483K)

because THIS is what they come up with as a replacement

Attached: file.png (1500x1000, 2.74M)

>tfw hate autistic preserving NOTHING CAN EVER CHANGE REEEEEEEEEE
>tfw hate modern buildings

life is horror

Attached: 1434450292359.jpg (500x598, 190K)

Stalin's Empir is one of the best architectural styles

what else could they possibly come up with?

anything that isn't an eyesore

you try and draw something that is practical, ergononomic, comfortable and relatively cheap as well... one cannot simply build Polish style old town kind of buildings anymore, we need room, we need space and we need more natural light

>Businesses on the bottom floor
>Apartment buildings on top
>pretty design and easily replicable
>can withstand hundreds or thousands of years and doesn't ror

Seems very practical to me

Attached: 59185175.jpg (1024x683, 143K)

I like ancient australian architecture
they had upside down pyramids n shit

i'd also like buildings that have a soul, not this... whatever the fuck that is
it's ugly
it doesn't fit

>impractical
Yeah. glass dildos that will collapse after 100 years are SOO much more practical
Colonies will never understand, who would've thought

yeah that's fine, but then again cities keep growing bigger and there simply isn't much room left... that's why the people in charge have to come up with solutions that fit a budget and are realistic... building replicas is just retarded

Isn't it super noisy living on top of businesses?

Modern buildings have much higher safety standards and are far less likely to collapse in general. Plus that's the whole point, I don't want modern buildings to last forever anyway. Everything should be replaced eventually

Guess why their bungalows look so shitty
Because of that retarded
>almost every building should be temporary
"""logic"""

you can't fake soul, building replicas is fucking dumb when you think about it... it would look cheap in a bad way

We also need something to feast our eyes upon.

>Modern buildings have much higher safety standards
[citation needed]
>Plus that's the whole point, I don't want modern buildings to last forever anyway
Yeah whatever, enjoy your cities build for cars

>i can't have a common ground between maintaining some aspects of a tradition while modernising

Attached: 1514387854434.png (645x729, 107K)

>citation needed
you know it's true

that's what the old town is meant for
we cannot realistically come up with anything that ressembles old architecture because it'd be shit looking rip-offs anyway

nothing wrong with a good queenslander mate, they're fucking beautiful houses and i'd like to build one in the future.

I now realise we didn't go far enough with the Dresden bombings

>you know it's true
>glass dildo newly build vs old ruin 2000 years old
>wow people who don't want to look like their buildings could slide out of their ass BTFO xdd

Wow you sure showed me
Enjoy that you will be remembered for glas dildos while abos fuck in the ruins

that's obviously not what the aussie meant by safety standards :^)

Then what did he mean instead?

> it'd be shit looking rip-offs anyway
Only for a century or so, most people wouldn't tell the difference after that. Neuschwanstein is only like a century old and it's possibly the most popular castle

>we cannot realistically come up with anything that ressembles old architecture
wow when you fill your art school with marxists people no longer have creativity and technical skill? shocking

>My country shouldn't preserve its old, traditional architecture that embodies its culture and history

Attached: 1483624215700.jpg (594x479, 98K)

he meant anything that could possibly happen to a building as in emergencies like a fire or something, don't play fucking dumb

>glass dildo newly build vs old ruin 2000 years old

dumb kraut

wow showed me my dude upvoted MAGA!!!

what even is the point of faking old architecture in the hope it goes unoticed in 100 years?... to each period its architecture

Japanese architecture is the answer

OP you fucking Rakata!

youtube.com/watch?v=Q1ZeXnmDZMQ

>we cannot realistically come up with anything that ressembles old architecture because it'd be shit looking rip-offs anyway
We can if we try hard enough. Check Jakriborg and Poundbury.

Imagine if we hadn't rebuilt Dresden the way it was before the Angl*s destroyed it. It would be full of soulless (((modern))) glass and steel buildings. No one would even think of visiting such a shithole. But instead hundreds of thousands of people come to Dresden every year and visit its timeless beauty, what bombs couldn't destroy.

whats wrong with revivalism? neogothic and american neo classicism are wonderful. why not do neo baroque or neo greco roman? god knows it cant get worse then now

we have different expectations as to what our buildings have to offer now... as much as I love old euro architecture

>you can't build buildings with modern interior standards and facades that aren't grey brutalist soviet tier shitstains

Attached: let.jpg (971x565, 139K)

I don't think the problem is purely modernizing, it's more the fact that a lot of modern structures often use cheap materials or uninspired designs to cut costs, i.e. . Though at the end of the day, that's kind of a byproduct of living in a world with an ever-growing population; it's not something that can really be controlled beyond basic safety regulations and zoning.

Why is it always the australians making impeccably stupid fucking posts?

interiors have a direct impact on facades

Yes and?

Modern architecture is not practical for people without cars. Too much walking in a hostile environment.

my god you're retarded

Lego houses=/= modernised

Nice argument you have showed us all here, everybody wants to live inside soviet blocks now, thanks

If it could be done in the 20th century why not the 21st?

The interiors of any pre-early 20th century buildings are almost always maintained with a myriad of modern materials behind the scenes. Not everything lasts, especially structures that are constantly in use.

t. living in a house built in the 20's that's constantly in need of repairs.

contemporary architecture isn't concrete soviet blocks you absolute retard, it's pretty much the opposite of that

Because retards like OP exist.
The funny thing is that those older buildings were cheaper to build compared to shitty modern """buildings""", even when the older buildings get updated interiors now

>Why is it always the australians making impeccably stupid fucking posts?
Says the American.

wow so beautiful
*have to pay window cleaners*
*collapses in 50 years*

Attached: beautiful.jpg (2000x1333, 193K)

that isn't ugly

he's a chinese immigrant trying to change the country to their liking
you must know the type

>people without cars
Why should we design our cities for poor cunts? Just get a job. Cars aren't even expensive

wow so place saving
>don't think that we are actually piggy acting like we are the proletariat xd

Attached: absolutelybeautiful.jpg (1200x800, 80K)

>haha le poor xd
>he is so fat he HAS to drive the car to get something from a shop

>literally 4 cuboids on a concrete slab
>not ugly
ivan please
this looks like something a toddler would make out of legos

those are architects' fantaisies with little to no consideration to their direct surroundings

still way better than faking old looking building though, that's for sure

haha look at me I love attention

Attached: peoplewillrememberusforthis.jpg (1024x646, 232K)

hello rabbi

Please don't, all of the areas of the US built with that philosophy are so soulless. You can make modern buildings that have character. Santa Fe chose to renovate, Albuquerque chose to modernize.
Now Albuquerque looks like shit and is filled with row after row of those horrifying suburbs of single family homes in an endless grid of urban sprawl.
Meanwhile Santa Fe looks like this, modern, but with a distinctive style

>he likes to walk in a living city full of people who don't commute for hours, thus he's poor and probably a faggot too

Attached: 1394677007584.jpg (244x209, 24K)

those projects were paid by the city to advertise it, this is no everyday architecture

Dude, that's fucking hideous.

I feel instantly at home here haha

Attached: amazingCULTURE.jpg (640x480, 109K)

you people keep saying this yet never come up with anything else

everybody can scroll up and see that you're lying and grasping at straws

I wish Hitler won the war

literally threw crumpled paper on the floor and saw what stuck
and you conveniently ignore all criticism

That's the Museum of Pop Culture, it's located directly next to the Space Needle in Seattle. I've actually been there as well, it's pretty nice.

This is what happens when untalented people try and copy Frank Lloyd Wright, but have no idea what they are doing

Attached: FLW_Header_1508778226.jpg (1200x750, 324K)

dude look at that pattern, so beautful!!!

Attached: comfy.jpg (615x409, 77K)

Damn I wish they removed the rest of that ugly old shit and replace it with some more shards, add some red window panels maybe so it can look exactly like where it came from: the ass of some incompetent tasteless architect

>old looking building
Glass dildos are literally an old 20th century meme, replicated ad nauseam by third worlders who are eager to look "modern" to hide the fact they were literal peasants 25 years ago.

Also I like how any building that's not too high, built in durable materials, and fits organically in the city is automatically "fake" and "old-looking" to you.

This looks unironically nice. But as always we get people misusing some style for some attention and good boy points in their little circles.

Attached: bruh.jpg (634x422, 37K)

You mean the highly-industrialized faggot who destroyed over half of the old buildings and artworks in Europe whilst also coating the landscape in shrapnel, rusted military equipment, and noxious chemicals?

Helsinki is a really horrifyingly ugly and Russian city. It's sad that they won't get rid of the old outdated look which reminds us of inferior countries.

I'm lying?

How so? All i've had for critisicm is the german retard that spams atrocities paid by their respective cities. I haven't had a single argument as to why we should build old looking buildings again.

No jews = no modernist architecture.

This one is actually fine

>the road is starting to cry now

>inb4 the eternal suburb vs. commieblock debate

You need to go back to Jow Forums

that's Falling Water from Wright, it's almost 100 years old

>that's Falling Water from Wright, it's almost 100 years old
Hense, it's not shit
All hope lost tbqhahmd

Because it attracts tourists, meaning the city makes more money than they would by saving a bit from building a simplistic cube.
